# Modix releases three new large-format AM systems

[Modix](https://www.3dprintingbusiness.directory/company/modix-3d-printers/), an Israeli-based 3D printer manufacturer, has expanded its portfolio of large-format AM systems for the aerospace, automotive and prosthetic markets. The new systems, which bring the company's total offering to six 3D printers, are the Modix BIG-Meter, the Modix BIG-180X and the Modix BIG-40.

The new large-format 3D printing systems are based on the same technology and design as Modix's existing BIG-60 (version 3.0), [BIG-120X](https://www.voxelmatters.com//modix-announces-four-new-large-format-3d-printers/) and [120Z](https://www.voxelmatters.com//modix-big-120z-large-format-3d-printer/). The company first announced the new systems last year, but has made some updates (including increased build areas) since that first reveal.

The Modix BIG-Meter has a build volume of 1,000 x 1,000 x 1,000 mm and is available starting at $10,500. The Modix BIG-180X, for its part, has a build volume of 1,800 x 600 x 600 mm and was specifically designed to meet the requirements of customers in the automotive industry. This model is available starting at $12,000. Finally, the Modix BIG-40 has a tall print volume of 400 x 400 x 800 mm, and is particularly useful for the production of tall and narrow parts, like prosthetics. This system is available starting at $4,500.

"We are proud to continuously develop our line of products and offer an array of solutions to meet our many worldwide customer needs, customers who rely on 3D printing as part of their day to day business," said Shachar Gafni, CEO of Modix. "Despite the Covid-19 crisis, Modix never stopped its services and R&D for a minute and the result is in front of you. The demand for our printers is growing as the recognition for the quality of products and services is spreading. These newly introduced products are only yet another milestone in our road-map to provide an end to end solution within the 3D printing market. Several additional new models at various sizes will be available soon.”

To facilitate the shipment of its large-format systems, Modix deploys all of its printers as self-assembly kits consisting of an E3D print head, DUET3D controller, HIWIN motion rails, IGUS wiring, Gates belts, Meanwell power supply and more. Customers can also opt for additional features, such as the E3D V6 detailed, E3D-Volcano High Flow and E3D Super-Volcano hot ends, an air filter, high-temperature hotend and more. As mentioned, the new systems integrate many of the same features as the company's existing 3D printing systems, including a closed aluminum composite enclosure, leveling casters, a 7" touchscreen, wifi and web connectivity, etc. Other notable features are a filament runout sensor, stall detection and automatic bed leveling based on 100 probing points.

Mr. John Van EL, Modix CCO, added: "Modix is extending its offering and providing better solutions for several new vertical niches. This effort will help our reselling partners to win more deals than before. Modix’s reseller network is constantly growing."
