Modix, a manufacturer of large-format 3D printers, has introduced its latest system, the Modix Everest. Key features include a printing volume of 970 x 1,030 x 2,000mm (XYZ); equipped with the Griffin Ultra – achieving speeds over 500g/hour; reduced post-processing time with the ability to print life-size objects in one go; builds on the proven foundation of the company’s best-seller BIG-Meter, with a reinforced frame for stability and print quality.

The Modix Everest pre-order campaign runs until the end of April 2024, with deliveries estimated in August.

Griffin Ultra print head

An addition to the Modix line-up is the Griffin Ultra print head, which doubles the efficiency of Modix printers with the capability to extrude over 500g/hour. This significantly shortens printing times through its capacity for printing thicker layers, faster – completing tasks that previously took 12, in just 2 hours.

The Griffin Ultra is equipped with a 1.6mm nozzle and supports layer heights of 0.3mm to 1.2mm at speeds up to 250mm/sec. It is compatible with Gen3 and Gen4 Modix BIG printers, including IDEX configurations.

IDEX auto-calibration sensor

The hands-free IDEX Calibration Tool for nozzle alignment ensures high-quality, multi-material prints. Achieving precise nozzle alignment is crucial for optimal IDEX printing – ensuring water-soluble filament does not mix with the main model.
