# MINI releases limited 1965 Victory Edition featuring 3D printed components

MINI has released a limited-edition model range which draws on the brand’s 1965 Monte Carlo Rally victory to inform design, specification, and naming of the new car.

The MINI 1965 Victory Edition incorporates a range of Multi Jet Fusion 3D printed components, as is now widely used across the [BMW Group’s production plants](https://www.voxelmatters.com/riding-into-a-3d-future-with-bmw/). Specifically, the brand utilizes AM extensively across its customized and limited-edition vehicle ranges.

Timo Göbel, BMW Group’s recently appointed head of AM, confirmed last week that the [use of 3D printing technology](https://www.voxelmatters.com/bmw-group-targets-2027-for-waam-series-production/amp/) is now “fully integrated across all phases of the product life cycle” from start to finish.

“3D printed components are used from early development and prototype production all the way to series production and to support the global production network,” he stated.

Since opening in 2020, BMW’s AM campus in Oberschleißheim has produced more than 1.6 million components. An additional 100,000 parts have been manufactured annually at its worldwide network of plants.

The 1965 VE model has been made available in both traditional and electric versions, with the electric delivering 258 hp, while the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine-powered Cooper S and John Cooper Works versions produce 204 hp and 231 hp, respectively.

The model’s design cues reference the original race car, with all three variants coming in red exterior paintwork with a white trim stripe running from bonnet to roof and rear. A white “52” graphic on both sides of the vehicle references the number carried by the original 1965 race car. 

The 1965 Victory Edition goes on sale in all participating markets this month, with European market deliveries set to begin in July 2026.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
