MHOX Collagene masks stun at Ultraromanticismo art exhibit
The artworks have been 3D printed by CRP Technology using glass fiber reinforced Windform LX 3.0
When high tech meets the world of art: CRP Technology, a leading company in the field of professional 3D printing and composite materials, will display the MHOX Collagene 3D printed masks at Ultraromanticismo. The exhibit displays works by fifty contemporary artists from different fields (painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, ceramics) in different museums, historical and architectural “treasures” of the province of Modena.
The Ultraromanticismo project is an example of a virtuous, territorial network with the scope to promote contemporary artistic research and enhance the places devoted to culture and the holy. The fourth section of the exhibition will open on Saturday 6 November at 15:00 CET (UTC+1) in the Exhibition Hall, former library of the Medieval hamlet, Savignano sul Panaro (Modena), and will display two “Collagene” masks by MHOX (Alessandro Zomparelli and Filippo Nassetti).
These are customized and generative objects manufactured by CRP Technology in composite material Windform LX 3.0 Glass fiber reinforced, using selective laser sintering with composite fiber-reinforced polymers.

Windform LX 3.0 is part of the Windform TOP-LINE family of composite materials created by CRP Technology and used in the most advanced industrial sectors such as aerospace and defense, automotive, motorsport, robotics and design to create functional prototypes and small batches.
The other artists on display in the fourth section are Francesca Dondoglio, Tommaso Giusti, Elia Mazzotti Gentili. The section will be open until 6 December 2021. The exhibition is curated by Associazione culturale Ricognizioni sull’arte (Sergio Bianchi, Alessandro Mescoli, Massimiliano Piccinini, Federica Sala, Laura Solieri, Andrea Barillaro), promoted by Comuni di Castelnuovo Rangone, Pavullo nel Frignano, Castelfranco Emilia, Savignano sul Panaro, Spilamberto e Vignola, in collaboration with Associazione culturale Ricognizioni sull’arte, and created with the support of BPER Bank (main sponsor) and Ossimoro Art Gallery.
The Ultraromanticismo exhibition’s main topics are: “Il corpo”, tra frammentazione, anatomia, aberrazione e diversità (“The body”, between fragmentation, anatomy, aberration and diversity); “Il paesaggio / La natura”, tra senso del sublime, rovinismo, catalogazione e caducità della vita (“The Landscape / Nature”, between a sense of the sublime, ruinism, cataloging and transience of life); “L’uomo / Eroe romantico” (“The Romantic Hero”), with particular attention to the past, to the recovery of lost cultures and civilizations between utopia and ideals; “L’inconscio” (“The Unconscious”), between automatic writing, dreams, mystery and new rituals.
The works of well-known masters and young artists are connected to 1700s and 1800s artworks by Felice Giani, Luigi Manzini, Giuseppe Obici and Giovan Battista Piranesi, from Ossimoro Art Gallery and private collections. Also on display is the “Canapè del Duca”, a famous dormouse that belonged to the Este Dukes.
