# Massivit adds Daniel Birnbaum and Gabriel Shachor to advisory board amid defense pivot

[Massivit 3D Printing Technologies](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/massivit3d/) appointed Daniel Birnbaum, former chief executive of SodaStream, and Brig. Gen. (Res.) Gabriel Shachor to its advisory board as the Israeli company intensifies its shift toward defense, aerospace, and aviation programs. Birnbaum previously worked with Massivit Chief Executive Yossi Azarzar during SodaStream’s turnaround and subsequent sale to PepsiCo for $3.2 billion, a background the company cites as relevant to scaling operations and go-to-market execution. Shachor, a former fighter pilot and commander of Palmachim Airbase, brings procurement and integration expertise and founded drone company Sky Sapience.

## A new line of defense

“The appointments of Daniel Birnbaum and Gabriel Shachor are an important pillar in building our management backbone and executing the company’s new business strategy,” said Yossi Azarzar, Chief Executive Officer, Massivit 3D Printing Technologies. “We are assembling a team with proven experience and deep expertise that will enable us to pave the way into new markets and deliver breakthrough solutions tailored to the needs of the local and global defense industries.”

## Faster composite tooling via CIM services providers

At the center of the strategy is Massivit’s Cast In Motion platform, which prints large molds and tools for composite parts on accelerated timelines. Massivit reports that programs requiring months with conventional methods can be compressed to days, a capability aimed at unmanned aerial vehicles, airframe structures, and protective systems. The company’s collaboration with Sika expands the range of compatible casting materials for CIM to meet durability and qualification requirements in defense environments.

The defense tilt follows management changes over the past year, including Azarzar’s appointment as CEO in March 2025 and a reorganization to align resources with aerospace and defense timelines and certification needs. The company outlined the sector entry in 2025 as part of a broader move beyond traditional industrial and civilian applications.

To lower adoption barriers, Massivit is building service bureaus that provide design, engineering, mold production, and composite part manufacturing without customer capital expenditures. An initial center is operating in Israel with Comparts to serve local defense organizations and aerospace suppliers, offering on-demand tooling and parts.
