For those who are not yet familiar with it, MakerVerse is an on-demand manufacturing platform for sourcing industrial-grade parts. The multi-sided platform connects industrial makers with a distributed network of certified producers. The company combines cutting-edge industry expertise with profound knowledge of digital venture-building. Investors include industry leaders Siemens Energy and ZEISS, and financial/venture capital investors, including 9.5 Ventures. The start-up was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in Berlin, Germany.

“This recognition underscores our dedication to maintaining the highest data security and privacy standards,” said Tim Schark, MakerVerse CFO. “It further emphasizes our commitment to offering unparalleled services to our customers while ensuring robust security measures are in place.”

Founded in 2022, MakerVerse offers 12+ manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and more, to make it easy for companies to get the needed parts. MakerVerse is also ISO 9001 certified for its quality management system.

Obtaining the ISO 27001 Certification

The ISO 27001 certification is a globally accepted standard that delineates the requirements for establishing, implementing, and improving an information security management system (ISMS). The criteria focus heavily on information security controls, data protection, and continuous enhancement of the overall ISMS.

The certification process involved an in-depth evaluation of MakerVerse’s ISMS, which covered the policies, procedures, and processes for safeguarding services and customer data. This process entailed a meticulous audit performed by TÜV SÜD to examine MakerVerse’s security controls (e.g., secure development practices, access controls, and cryptography).

Having acquired the ISO 27001:2017 certification, MakerVerse is ready to bolster its offering, ensuring its partners and customers experience a highly secure and dependable manufacturing platform.
