Lithoz goes dental with CeraFab 7500 Dental

The dental applications market is now increasingly seen as a key production market for 3D printing technologies and many feel that the paradigm shift will come to completion at this year’s IDS show in Koln. Several companies are gearing up, including ceramic 3D printer manufacturer Lithoz. The Austrian company will be presenting the new CeraFab 7500 Dental system at IDS next 12-16 March 2019.

After a couple years of development, Lithoz is thus moving into the dental industry and looking forward to the potential applications that its high-quality stereolithographic 3D printing technology can provide. The CeraFab 7500 Dental3D printer was ideal for manufacturing high-quality parts and accuracy which are suited to dental applications, such as crowns, veneers and implants among other parts.

Zirconia is the main material we use for these applications, and as such Lithoz developed two new zirconia materials which possess the properties necessary for dental applications, such as high strength and translucency.

Lithoz, which is partly funded through EOS’ AM Ventures fund, introduced its lithography-based ceramic manufacturing (or LCM) process to facilitate a tool-free, resource-efficient method of production for high-quality ceramics. Lithoz’  additive manufacturing systems are used in industry and research, along with its ceramic materials, for the production of high-performance ceramic parts.

LCM technology is a sensible alternative to conventional processes, especially showing its full potential in areas, where such processes reach their limits. It opens up new prospects for industry and research in the construction, production and potential application of high-performance ceramics.

The company is also committed to supporting its customers and the entire ceramic industry with insights into the AM of ceramics, and consequently, is endorsing the American Ceramic Society in a short course of AM of ceramics. This event will take place in Cleveland ahead of the Ceramics Expo.
