# Lithoz brings industrial AM to ceramitec 2026

This March, leaders and innovators from across the world of ceramics will converge in Munich for ceramitec 2026. The annual trade show highlights the latest advances in ceramic technologies, materials, and applications so it is no surprise that additive manufacturing has been a key focus of the event in recent years. This year in particular, ceramitec organizers are [foregrounding ceramic AM](https://www.voxelmatters.com/additive-cutting-edge-ceramitec-2026/) in their programming, with various panels dedicated to the segment and a slew of featured ceramic AM companies. Among these companies is [Lithoz](https://www.lithoz.com/en/), a Vienna-based leader in ceramic 3D printing whose solutions have played a key role in the evolution of ceramic AM from an R&D process to an industrial-grade technology. 

At Lithoz’s booth (Hall A6, Booth 233), ceramitec 2026 visitors and exhibitors can see the global reach of Lithoz’s technologies as well as cutting-edge ceramic AM applications and the hardware that is enabling them. As we’ll see in this article, ceramitec is shaping up to be a big event for Lithoz this year as it will showcase its prominent role in the ever-maturing ceramic AM sector. 

## Building a global network

With exhibitors and visitors from around the world coming to Munich, ceramitec 2026 will be a fitting occasion for Lithoz to showcase its global footprint via its [Ceramic 3D Factory](https://www.voxelmatters.com/lithoz-goes-global-with-the-ceramic-3d-factory/). Launched in 2024, the Ceramic 3D Factory is a global network of certified service providers and research facilities that use Lithoz’s Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM) technology. Notably, this network is playing a vital role in the adoption and industrialization of ceramic AM by facilitating access to the technology for OEMs in the aerospace, semiconductor, and medical industries, among others.

As Lithoz says: “This network plays a key role in transferring ceramic additive manufacturing from past research and prototyping phases into today’s industrial reality. It has been producing numerous real-world use cases at serial production level and at increasing speed.”    

Not only will Lithoz be platforming its growing Ceramic 3D Factory at ceramitec: a number of the network’s members will also be exhibiting at the event. Partners include Steinbach AG, a German service provider that makes technical ceramic prototypes and series parts for a range of industries; Sinto Advanced Ceramics (formerly Bosch Advanced Ceramics), a contract manufacturer specializing in technical ceramics; and Japan-based manufacturers Yugyokuen Ceramics and Mitsui Kinzuko. (Steinbach AG very recently [acquired two additional Lithoz CeraFab S65 3D printers](https://www.voxelmatters.com/steinbach-expands-ceramic-am-with-two-new-cerafab-s65/), bringing its total production capacity up to seven ceramic 3D printers. This machine expansion reinforces the growing demand for in-series ceramic components.)

## At the booth

While ceramitec guests will have to wait another month to see Lithoz’s impressive presentation in person, we are here to give a little preview of what is to come. 

First, Lithoz will be showcasing its CeraFab S320 3D printer at ceramitec 2026. The industrial system was [first launched in 2024 at Formnext](https://www.voxelmatters.com/lithoz-to-launch-new-cerafab-system-s320-at-formnext/) and quickly made waves in the ceramic AM segment thanks to its large build volume (five times that of the CeraFab S65) and high resolution capability. The CeraFab S320, which has a lateral resolution of 60 µm and a build speed up to 150 layers per hour, is specially engineered for the serial production of mid-sized ceramic parts.

You’ll also be able to see the fruits of the CeraFab S320 first hand, as Lithoz will be showcasing a series of **46 casting cores** for single-crystal turbine blades. These casting cores, which come in a range of sizes, were printed in a single run on the industrial ceramic 3D printer. Thanks to complex, AM-enabled geometries, these casting cores not only look impressive, they are also more efficient, resulting in single-crystal turbine blades with superior cooling properties. This improvement allows jet engines to operate at higher temperatures and thus achieve greater fuel efficiency. This technology has been adopted by French engine manufacturer Safran Aircraft Engines, which last year [acquired three CeraFab S65 3D printers](https://www.voxelmatters.com/safran-installs-3-cerafab-s65-ceramic-printers-from-lithoz-to-produce-cores/) for the serial production of complex casting cores.

Not only keen to show off how effective its platform is for aerospace series production, Lithoz will also be displaying a large component designed for the semiconductor industry. The part, an **Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) ring** with a diameter of 15 inches, was designed by German plasma specialist Plasway and manufactured in six pieces by ceramic AM manufacturer Alumina Systems using a CeraFab printer. The part itself replaces a more traditional metal ALD ring and offers a significant uptime increase. Not just more durable, the ceramic ALD ring integrates optimized flow paths and a more lightweight structure. All these benefits have translated to tripled output in the production of semiconductors.

Those in the ceramic industry know how much demand is growing for aluminum nitride (AIN), particularly in the semiconductor industry. The material, which offers a combination of excellent thermal conductivity (150-260 W/mk), electrical insulation, thermal stability, and chemical resistance, has been of keen interest for applications like cooling plates and [heat exchangers](https://www.voxelmatters.com/lithoz-develops-aluminum-nitride-ceramic-heat-exchangers/).

Lithoz will be showcasing a series of **3D printed cooling plates made from AIN**, which not only capture the benefits of the material’s unique properties, but maximize them through design features like channel networks with gyroids and lattices. For instance, Lithoz’s LCM process enables semiconductor manufacturers to design more complex cooling plates with excellent electrical insulation, thermal stability, and resistance to chemical corrosion, making them ideal for harsh environments. At ceramitec 2026, Lithoz will be displaying newly printed AIN cooling plates with dimensions of 100 x 90 mm, which have ultra-precise channels with increased operation  area. 

As a demonstration of its technology’s versatility, Lithoz will be exhibiting an application from the medical sector: **3D printed ceramic otoplastics**. Made from a biocompatible alumina-toughened zirconia (ATZ), the earmolds for hearing aids were designed for optimal acoustic precision, durability, and comfort. Leveraging CeraFab S65 Medical systems operated by German contract manufacturer CADdent, Swiss otoplastics specialist OC GmbH designed the earmolds to integrate very thin walls (under 1 mm) and fine inner channels that enable seamless sound transmission. Alumina-toughened zirconia itself offers a combination of acoustic neutrality, biocompatibility, and wear resistance, giving the technical ceramic a performance edge compared to more traditional earmold materials like plastics or titanium.

## Mark your calendars

These use cases are only the tip of the iceberg for Lithoz’s LCM technology, however they do represent the dynamic properties of technical ceramics and the advantages offered by additive manufacturing in a range of industries. More than that, they communicate to ceramitec visitors and the ceramics industry at large that AM has long entered the stage of industrial series production.
