# Legor to offer MoldJet technology for gold and platinum jewelry 3D printing

[Legor](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/legor-group-s-p/) and [Tritone Technologies](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/tritone/) formed a strategic partnership to expand precious-metal additive manufacturing across fine jewelry, watchmaking, and the luxury sector. Under the agreement, the Bressanvido, Italy-based precious metals group integrated Tritone's patented MoldJet technology into its 3D Metal Hub, the company's additive manufacturing center of excellence, enabling 3D printing in gold and platinum for high-value jewelry with complex geometries.

The MoldJet platform [joins the HP Metal Jet binder jetting system already operating within the 3D Metal Hub](https://www.voxelmatters.com/legor-3d-metal-hub-service/) for steel, silver, and bronze applications. With the addition, Legor became Tritone's official manufacturing service partner for the jewelry and luxury markets, positioning itself as a reference point for brands, designers, and producers interested in exploring MoldJet for precious-metal applications.

## Powder-free is the key

Tritone's MoldJet technology takes a different approach to conventional powder bed processes: it eliminates loose metal powder from the production process entirely, jetting a polymer mold layer by layer and filling it with metal paste before sintering. According to the partners, the process produces highly complex geometries with high definition, surface quality, and production flexibility — characteristics well suited to jewelry manufacturing, where handling powder of precious alloys poses both safety and material recovery challenges.

The integration enables the 3D Metal Hub to support the full product development cycle, from rapid prototyping to finished components and jewelry, covering one-off pieces as well as small- to large-production runs.

## Precious development

A central element of the partnership is materials work. The gold and platinum pastes used in the process were specifically developed and validated by Legor for the MoldJet technology, drawing on the company's metallurgical expertise in precious alloys. The companies presented the combination of material science and the Tritone platform as a solution specifically tailored to the requirements of the jewelry industry.
