Lamborghini launches 3D printed Space Key to access exclusive NFT
A first of its kind initiative combining composites, 3D printing and NFT... in space

Always ready to experiment with new design, manufacturing and marketing possibilities, Automobili Lamborghini has entered the world of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) with an artwork accessible via the Lamborghini Space Key. This exclusive project, developed with a still-undisclosed artist, combines many of the most advanced technologies, including 3D printing.
The distinguishing element of the space-themed artwork is the 3D printed space key, a piece of advanced 3D printed carbon fiber composite material that can boast of an incredible journey: Lamborghini sent the sample to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a joint research venture. After returning from space, the composite became part of the 3D printed Space Key. This unique object is limited to five units, each of which is linked to an exclusive digital artwork by the same artist, accessible via the QR code found on the backside.
This mesmerizing endeavor was developed in cooperation with NFT PRO, a white-label NFT solution for enterprises. Full details regarding the Lamborghini Space Key project will become available over the upcoming weeks, including the artist’s identity and information about the auction.
“I’ve been truly intrigued by the blockchain and all the possibilities that this technology offers,” Tim Bravo, Head of Communications a Lamborghini, wrote on LinkedIn. “True, cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens are by far the most popular and at the same time maybe the least remarkable applications of the blockchain. However, I believe that their popularity pushes the door open for all those non-speculative, complex applications that will help improve our lives, and even our society.”
Ever since we were the first in the world to break the story about the 3D printed Lamborghini, we have been following all of the company’s activities with AM very closely. Over the past couple of years, under the leadership of CEO Stephen Winklemann, Lamborghini has achieved record commercial success, combining it with extremely effective and accessible communication and marketing initiatives.
3D printing (along with electrification and composites) has also been a major element in Lamborghini’s strategy and the company has been very open about its objectives and the amount of 3D printed parts produced, especially using Carbon technology. Now it’s time to move to a new level and combine all this with NFT technology, with the very fascinating element of space exploration. Who wouldn’t love to see a future version of the Urus SUV driving around on the Moon?
Until then… Stay tuned for the artwork…
