LACE teams up with 3DEO to create 3D printed chain-link bracelet

The new stainless steel bracelet from LACE by Jenny Wu was created using 3DEO’s proprietary Intelligent Layering technology

LACE by Jenny Wu is teaming up with the additive manufacturing company, 3DEO, to release ‘Link’ – a new 3D printed chain-link bracelet that combines LACE’s innovative jewelry design with 3DEO’s proprietary Intelligent Layering technology. The design of Link completely reinvents traditional chain link manufacturing techniques – as each link connects to the other without any additional hardware, hinges, or pin connectors. Each link is an independent piece, and the chain, therefore, allows for adjustability in terms of size, as well as finishes. The presale begins on January 24th, 2023.

LA-based 3DEO is an award-winning design, engineering and manufacturing firm that specializes in small metal components produced in high volumes. Their next-generation 3D printing platform is powered by Intelligent Layering – a patented technology that combines 3D printing with CNC milling to achieve unprecedented intricacy and complexity. Link is the first commercial jewelry design that has ever been produced using this technology.

“This collaboration has been several years in the making,” said Jenny Wu, founder of LACE. “I’m especially excited because 3DEO’s innovative technology allows me to produce an interlocking chain that I have not been able to do previously directly with 3D printing.”

Each link is connected through a ball joint that runs along an integral track on an adjacent link.

Link is produced from stainless steel 17-4PH – a material with high strength and corrosive resistance, that is used extensively in aerospace and medical industries. Initially, Link will be offered in three finish options – matte, polished, and black oxide – with new finishes later this year. The 3D printed chain-link bracelet can be adjusted to fit all wrist sizes, as the links can be easily removed or added.

“3DEO is thrilled to be partnering with LACE and Jenny Wu on this high-quality, first-edition chain link bracelet,” said Matt Sand, President, and Co-founder of 3DEO. “By partnering with 3DEO, Jenny and her team were able to take advantage of the end-to-end services that 3DEO offers: ideation and design, prototyping, and production manufacturing. We’re excited to help bring this fresh and unique product to launch.”
