JUNO.AM installs Italy’s first Carbon M3 Max
DLS platform expansion strengthens Carbon partnership and boosts industrial production in Bologna
JUNO.AM has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of the first Carbon M3 Max printer in Italy. The acquisition, sourced directly from Carbon’s U.S. headquarters, extends the five-year collaboration between the two companies—now renewed for another five years—and reinforces JUNO.AM’s position within the Carbon Production Network (CPN).
The M3 Max is the latest evolution of Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) platform, introducing an enlarged build volume (307 × 163 × 326 mm) and new thermal and optical control systems. According to JUNO.AM, these features enable isotropic precision and production repeatability that exceed the capabilities of conventional SLA (stereolithography) and DLP (digital light processing) methods.
The new unit joins an existing Carbon M2 printer already operating at JUNO.AM’s Borgo Panigale lab, expanding DLS production capacity and enabling the manufacturing of larger components and functional series using high-performance materials such as EPX, RPU/EPU, and SIL. The Bologna facility also integrates HP Multi Jet Fusion 5620, Stratasys (PolyJet and FDM), and LPBF (laser powder bed fusion) systems for metal additive manufacturing with stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
“With the M3 Max, we are bringing the latest generation of Carbon’s DLS technology to Italy. It’s not just about increased capacity—it’s a leap in production quality, made possible by our ongoing direct collaboration with Carbon’s teams in Silicon Valley, which has been a hallmark of our partnership since 2020,” said Michele Monti, Creative Director at JUNO.AM.
JUNO.AM, based in Borgo Panigale (Bologna), is an Italian hub specializing in professional additive manufacturing. The company collaborates with international brands across sectors including automotive, medical, fashion, sports, aerospace, and packaging automation, providing industrial 3D printing services for both polymer and metal production.
