Jingye Additive adds EP-M1550 and EP-M1250 metal 3D printers

The leading Chinese AM industry portal Antartic Bear (Nanji Xiang) reported that local AM service provider Jingye Additive, part of Jingye Group, has installed two more “super-meter-level” metal 3D printers, an EP-M1550 and an EP-M1250, from Eplus3D. This brings the total of 100-level (meter-level) machines to 6 while the total number of metal 3D printers has reached 46.

The EP-M1550 from Eplus3D added by Jingye Additive is currently the largest commercially available metal L-PBF system in the world, with a maximum build volume of 1550 mm x 1550 mm x 1000 mm. It is equipped with 16 lasers and 16 galvanometers, with multi-laser precise positioning. It supports titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, high-temperature nickel-based alloy, mold steel, stainless steel, cobalt-chromium-molybdenum and other materials. It is suitable for the direct manufacturing of large-size, high-precision and high-performance parts in aerospace and other fields.

According to Jingye Additive, demand is such that all systems are working to full capacity. The company has delivered as many as 100,000 parts to date, with a cumulative printing time of over 300,000 hours. The largest single part printed required over 1,000 hours (that’s almost a month and a half) of continuous printing. It was successfully delivered to the customer and has received unanimous praise from customers. Currently, the company has sufficient orders and the equipment is operating at full capacity.

Since Jingye Group announced its 100-unit metal 3D printing factory project in 2022, it has continued to add large-size metal 3D printing equipment and supporting equipment for post-processing and precision testing instruments. Now Jingye Additive has a total of 46 systems, including both imported and domestic equipment, and is gradually scaling along with the increased clustering, specialization and diversification of AM requirements. The company has laid a solid foundation for an integrated full-chain comprehensive project and the construction of a complete metal 3D printing workflow with an eye on sustainability.
