Swiss company Jellypipe, which has a B2B professional online ecosystem for 3D printing, is expanding its offering beyond continental Europe to the UK and Ireland. Jellypipe’s ecosystem brings together AM experts, manufacturers with 3D printing capabilities and professionals seeking 3D printed parts and components.

Jellypipe was founded in 2018 and has since focused primarily on the continental European market. Now, it is beginning what it hopes will eventually become a global expansion, by moving into the United Kingdom and Ireland.

“The principal behind Jellypipe is very simple, but is made possible by some extremely complex and intricate software which is the engine that makes using our platform so intuitive and rewarding commercially for all parts of the 3D printing ecosystem we host,” said Georges Benz, President and Co-Founder of Jellypipe. “Users of Jellypipe can easily access a huge resource of knowledge, advice and consultation to ensure that the correct materials, 3D printing technology and finishing is selected, and then receive quotes from the most extensive network of 3D printing service providers based on speed of delivery or lowest cost. It really couldn’t be more powerful or more simple to engage.”

Jellypipe UK Ireland expansion

The Jellypipe platform is relatively simple, as Benz said, but takes a unique approach. There are three key players on the platform: the End Customer, the 3D Solution Partner and the 3D Print Partner. Initially, the end user selects their preferred 3D Solution Partner from among certified engineers with extensive 3D printing knowledge. In this stage, the Solution Partner will help the end user to optimize their design and select the best material. From there, the customer’s job will be sent out to the manufacturing network of 3D Print Partners. When the end customer receives the quotes, they can choose the 3D Print Partner with the best lead times and costs. Throughout it all, communication remains focused between the end customer and the 3D Solution Partner.

Benz stated: “We ensure that customers communicate with 3D printing solutions providers instead of direct with service providers in order to receive impartial professional advice on specific applications, limits and optimisation of 3D printing for their specific requirements.”

With its launch in Ireland and the UK, Jellypipe is now recruiting 3D printing solutions partners and service providers in the regions to deliver to its customers a comprehensive offering. Presently, the company has an ecosystem covering 13 different AM technologies and 50 different plastic or metal materials.

“It is the extent and the coherence of the Jellypipe platform that is so impressive,” said Scott Colman, Jellypipe representative for the UK and Ireland. “It overcomes many of the obstacles that stand between manufacturers and their use of 3D printing, key among which are a lack of understanding as to just what opportunities are available, and also an unwillingness to invest in what is often expensive and difficult to use technology. Jellypipe removes these hurdles and draws together ‘virtual shop’ owning 3D printing solutions providers with an extensive network of 3D printing service providers.”
