INTAMSYS, the Shanghai-based producer of 3D printing solutions for PEEK and other high-performance materials, has announced its entry into the Japanese industrial AM market through a new partnership agreement with Fusion Technology Co. Ltd. and Canon Marketing Japan Inc. Together, the companies will work to promote INTAMSYS’ 3D printing solutions and 3D printers to Japanese businesses.

Fusion Technology specializes in providing 3D printing expertise and design services for the architecture, manufacturing, medical, anime and education markets in Japan. Canon Marketing Japan Inc., for its part, has been tied into the partnership because of its existing reselling partnership with Fusion Technology.

To launch the recent alliance with INTAMSYS, the three companies will be co-exhibiting at the Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo (DMS) Tokyo from June 20 to 22. In a first for Japan, INTAMSYS will demonstrate its FUNMAT PRO HT and HUNMAT HT 3D printers at the event.

“More Japanese industrial manufacturers are increasingly embracing industrial additive manufacturing solutions for business-critical applications due to strong quality, high consistency and cost effectiveness,” said Mr. Inoue, CEO of Fusion Technology.

“INTAMSYS has presented a strong proven track record of delivering cutting-edge high performance material 3D printing solution to industrial end-users globally,” he continued. “Meanwhile, Fusion technology has built up a broad industrial customer base locally through decades of successful reselling experience, evidenced by our direct partnership with Canon. We believe this cooperation will complement each other very well in exploring more markets and possibilities in Japan.”

INTAMSYS, which just weeks ago announced it had successfully closed a Series A  funding round led by CWB Capital, has become a notable Chinese producer of industrial-grade 3D printers. Of particular interest to its clients is the fact that INTAMSYS’ 3D printers (including the FUNMAT HT and FUNMAT PRO HT) have the capacity to process a wide range of functional, high-performance materials.

This versatility—INTAMSYS boasts compatibility with over 20 functional materials including PEEK, PEKK, ULTEM, PPSU, PSU—is largely thanks to the printers’ innovative thermal technologies which comprise of an active heated chamber, high temperature nozzle and heated build plate.

Also worth mentioning is INTAMSYS’s commitment to an open materials system, which gives industrial clients the freedom to use their own materials or work with newly released materials. In terms of applications, the Shanghai-based manufacturer has clients and partners in the aerospace, automotive, medical, engineering, oil & gas, electronics, education and research sectors. Through this network, INTAMSYS says it is able to not only supply industrial 3D printing solutions but also further refine its technology for a range of applications.

By entering the Japanese market, INTAMSYS is aiming to expand its global footprint and promote AM innovation in a new country.

“Globally, Japanese firms have earned the reputation of having very high requirements on quality and reliability for machinery,” concluded Charles Han, CEO of INTAMSYS. “INTAMSYS is delighted to be recognized by Fusion Technology and Canon through this strong partnership and we look forward to serving the Japanese end users with machines and 3D printing solutions that come with the highest quality and state-of-the-art engineering capability.”
