Intech Additive Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (formerly Intech DMLS), a metal additive manufacturing company based in Bangalore, has appointed Pradeep Nair as Vice President of Hardware Sales for APAC and ME Asia. Nair is a veteran of the AM industry and played a vital role in introducing the technology to the Indian and ASEAN markets in the mid 1990s.

Founded in 2012, Intech Additive Solutions was one of the first companies to offer metal additive manufacturing services in India, providing end-to-end solutions for customers in the aerospace, automotive, engineering and medical segments. More recently, the company unveiled its own 3D printer series, iFusion, a fully made in India metal AM platform.

Following the launch of its 3D printer series earlier this year, Intech Additive Solutions has welcomed Pradeep Nair to its leadership team as VP of hardware sales for APAC and ME Asia. Nair will primarily be responsible for the business development and sales of the company’s iFusion series, as well as marketing and support functions. He will also take on an advisory role in the creation of the company’s 3D printing technology roadmap.

Nair’s career in the additive industry started in the 1990s, when he helped introduce the technology to the Indian and ASEAN markets in his role as Regional Director at Stratasys. He worked with Stratasys for 19 years before moving to SLM Solutions GmbH, where he was appointed Director of India and tasked with launching the company’s operations in the country.

“Pradeep Nair is a visionary and among the early prime movers to introduce additive manufacturing to India. His tireless work to build and promote a strong AM community network is evident and much appreciated” said Sridhar Balaram, MD & CEO of Intech Additive Solutions. “His appointment will give a big boost to our plans to revolutionize Additive Manufacturing in India especially with our ‘Made in India’ iFusion series of metal 3D printers.”

“I am thrilled to be part of such an innovative company like Intech through the next stage of its growth,” added Nair. “With its iFusion series of metal 3D printers, Intech is today well positioned to help the manufacturing industry reduce the cost of acquisition, cost of operations and achieve first time right with a quick go to market in its operations.”

The iFusion 3D printer series, based on selective laser melting technology, consists of the iFusion SF1, a compact metal AM system designed for R&D labs and research contexts, and the iFusion LFMulti, a larger system with multiple lasers that is ideal for industrial metal AM applications.
