# HP launches HP IF 600HT industrial filament 3D printer at Formnext 2025

At [Formnext 2025](https://www.voxelmatters.com/event/formnext-2025/), [HP Additive Manufacturing](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/hp-inc/) is unveiling the HP IF 600HT, a new industrial 3D printer (to be launched in H1 2026, followed by a larger model in H2 2026), along with an expanded metal binder jetting material offering, through a deepened partnership with Continuum Powders, GKN, and INDO MIM.

## HP IF 600HT industrial filament 3D printer debuts

HP is expanding into high-performance filament printing with the HP Industrial Filament 3D Printer 600 High Temperature, scheduled for release in the first half of 2026. The modular system leverages an MMS cabinet, which appears to be intended for filament storage and drying (similar in concept to Bambu Lab's AMS) and modular swappable extruders, which seem to be tailored for different temperature capabilities. The HP IF 600HT system targets demanding applications with engineered and high-temperature polymers and is built on an open materials platform. A second system, the HP IF 1000 XL, aimed at large-format production, is planned for launch in the second half of 2026.

The new platform marks HP’s entry into filament-based additive systems for industrial production. The company positions it as a complement to its Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) lineup, thus offering the ability to work with high-temperature-resistant materials that MJF cannot currently process. While it is still relatively niche, the high-temperature filaments and extrusion 3D printed parts market is considered to be highly strategic in future developments, as it enables the production of parts using materials that can be used for metal replacement applications. These include sectors such as aerospace, energy, medical, rail, and automotive, with the ability to produce production-grade parts with increased flexibility and lower cost per part.

## Continuum collaboration expands binder jet materials

HP is placing strategic emphasis on its collaboration with [Continuum Powders](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/molyworks/) to advance its Metal Jet binder jetting platform. Alongside [Spanish research institute TECNALIA](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/tecnalia/), HP and Continuum are developing OptiPowder M247LC, a low-carbon nickel superalloy designed for high-temperature and corrosive environments. The material targets aerospace and energy use cases, with further specialty alloys expected to follow.

In an earlier phase, Continuum and INDO-MIM Inc. helped qualify OptiPowder Ni718 for the HP Metal Jet S100, delivering sintered parts with over 98% density and stable hardness (74–79 HR15N), with tight control over carbon content. HP states the material is now ready for deployment in aerospace, defense, and energy components.

While HP highlighted other partnerships — including a collaboration on copper materials with GKN Powder Metallurgy — the company underscored its work with Continuum as central to advancing Metal Jet toward production readiness for high-performance applications.

## Cost reduction, materials, and digital network

HP also confirmed the general availability of HP 3D HR PA 11 Gen2, a high-performance polymer for MJF systems. The company reports it offers up to 80% powder reusability and up to 40% lower variable part costs, with the lowest carbon footprint of any MJF material to date.

To connect global parts demand with qualified providers, HP has introduced the Additive Manufacturing Network (AMN) — a data-driven program designed to reward service bureaus based on performance and collaboration. The program aims to streamline the adoption of industrial 3D printing by offering support, visibility, and performance incentives to participants.

Looking ahead, HP states it is targeting a 20% reduction in cost per part across its additive manufacturing portfolio by 2026 through material innovations, improved print recipes, and optimized workflows.
