HeyGears upgrades 3D printer offering with Reflex 2 Series & more
Resin 3D printer manufacturer’s new systems offer professional quality and enhanced reliability
Resin 3D printer manufacturer HeyGears has been busy expanding its product portfolio this year, first with the release of the Reflex RS Turbo in May, and now with the most recent launch of the Reflex 2 Series. HeyGears’ new 3D printing systems have been engineered and upgraded to support a wide range of applications, from prototype validation to scalable production, for users in the professional and creator markets. On top of that, the Reflex 2 and Reflex RS Turbo will be—for a short time—more accessible than ever, with HeyGears’ Black Friday sale offering $700+ USD of savings until December 3, 2025.
Like all of HeyGears’ solutions, these 3D printers are designed for easy setup and use, facilitating adoption by users who may not be technical experts in resin 3D printing. In this article, we’ll be zooming in on the brand new Reflex 2 Series (first debuted in October 2025) as well as the Reflex RS Turbo.
Introducing the Reflex 2 Series
Designed to take users beyond prototyping to final product production, the new Reflex 2 Series builds on HeyGears’ original Reflex 3D printer and introduces two upgraded models with superior build volumes, control, and lifespan. The two systems—the Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro—share a number of features, including the OptiZone Light Engine, which uses individually controlled mini LEDs to selectively cure layers of resin; the new Amber Screen Pro, which offers a longer lifespan than previous screen models; and a precision FOC Motor Module for high-precision positioning with 25,600 microsteps per revolution.
The key difference between the Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro is size. The larger of the machines, the Reflex 2 Pro, has a build volume of 230 x 144 x 350 mm, more than twice the size of the original Reflex 3D printer. This scaled-upscaled up version integrates a 1032 OptiZone Light Engine that uses 1032 individually controlled light zones to cure layers of resin with a high level of precision. This system is ideal for production applications in areas like footwear, orthotics, prosthetics, and protective sports equipment.
The Reflex 2, for its part, has a more compact size of 230 x 144 x 230 mm and uses a 161 OptiZone Light Engine, making it the ideal solution for product designers, studios, or companies seeking a user-friendly, high-accuracy solution for prototyping and design ideation.
Among the notable upgrades in the Reflex 2 series is the aforementioned Amber Screen Pro, which offers over 6,000 hours of stable printing. This upgraded component in the resin 3D printing systems utilizes a large-molecule liquid crystal layer for superior UV resistance and reinforced support pillars with 100 times greater screen pressure resistance. The OptiZone Light Engine also contributes to greater process stability by minimizing heat accumulation on the screen.
The Resin 2 series printers also make use of an AI-powered visual calibration algorithm called MASK that uses 86,020 calibration zones to compensate for light intensity variations in each screen zone. According to HeyGears, this brings a number of benefits, including ≥94% light uniformity and a print accuracy of ≤0.05 mm.
HeyGears has also made improvements on the 3D printer’s architecture, consolidating multiple components into a die-cast unibody base that improves rigidity, consistency and ensures excellent Z-axis repeat positioning accuracy. This positioning accuracy is maintained by a C5 Grade Z-axis module, which HeyGears put through ten thousand 50 kg load tests and found positioning errors no greater than 2 μm.
Additional key elements include the precision FOC Motor Module for stable batch printing; Dynamic Motion Algorithm 3.0, which offers real-time force feedback at 80 Hz and can adjust speeds in real-time to prevent layer misalignment; a thermal ventilation structure optimized for heat dissipation that helps maintain a temperature between 31.2°C and 35°C; and an optional heating scraper for intelligent and precise temperature control.
Both the Reflex 2 and Reflex 2 Pro are compatible with HeyGears’ range of Reflex 3D printing resins, including PAU20, PAT10, and the new PAH270, which has thermal resistance up to 270°C.
The Reflex RS Turbo
Another key system in HeyGears’ 3D printing hardware portfolio is the Reflex RS Turbo. Since launching the system last spring, the 3D printer has already proven to be valuable for a wide range of end users seeking to benefit from a combination of user-friendliness, reliability, and quality in the production 3D projects, from miniatures and creative works, to professional precision prototypes.
Building on the successes of the Reflex RS 3D printer, the Reflex RS Turbo integrates a slew of upgrades, including a new amber screen with a 566:1 contrast ratio and a dyed polarizer film layer, both of which contribute to improved sharpness and minimized light leakage for superior surface finishes. In fact, the Reflex RS Turbo was the first HeyGears printer to integrate the enhanced Amber Screen as standard.
HeyGears explains the benefits of the Amber Screen further, saying: “A key highlight of this technology is that it can 3D print over 1 million layers reliably. This is due to the dyed polarizer film employing dye macromolecules with excellent UV resistance and heat stability. This minimizes degradation, leading to reduced contrast decay and improved light projection reliability, ultimately extending the screen’s lifespan.”
Like the Reflex 2 series, the Reflex RS Turbo features a reliable C5 Grade Z-axis module, which ensures precision on the Z-axis within ±2 μm for dependable dimensional accuracy, and the Dynamic Motion Algorithm 3.0, which can increase printing rates by up to a third.
This solution is designed to be used in combination with HeyGears’ Wash and Cure units, all of which can be managed in the Blueprint Studio pre-processing software for streamlined and hassle-free 3D printing workflows.
