For nearly a century, New York-based Henry Schein has been a major distributor of healthcare products and services. Serving 33 countries around the globe, the company will now add Formlabs‘ Form 4B and Form 4BL to its portfolio of dental solutions. The distribution partnership will also see Henry Schein become the preferred North American reseller for Formlabs’ dental systems.
3D printing has been a vital tool in the dental industry for years now, and the partnership with Formlabs is not Henry Schein’s first foray into the technology. The healthcare distribution firm also sells dental 3D printer hardware from brands including Ackuretta, Dentsply Sirona, Desktop Health and SprintRay. The company also has Formlabs’ earlier dental 3D printer model, the Form 3B on its distribution list.
The Form 4B and Form 4BL were introduced in 2024 by Formlabs and bring new standards to the table in terms of print speed, consistency and precision. Notably, both platforms integrate the company’s new Low Force Display (LFD) print engine, which has unlocked up to five times faster print speeds for greater productivity. The Form 4BL, for its part, offers a large print area, nearly five times that of the Form 4B for even higher throughput.

The fourth-generation resin 3D printers are compatible with a broad range of biocompatible materials, including over 15 Formlabs resins developed specifically for the dental market, including Surgical Guide Resin, Dental LT Clear Resin, Temporary CB Resin and Premium Teeth Resin (which received FDA 510(k) Medical Device Clearance last year). These materials and others enable dental labs to rapidly produce a range of products, including crown and bridge models, clear aligner models, surgical guides, hard occlusal splints, night guards, dentures, impression trays, temporary crown and bridge restorations and more. The Form 4B and 4BL can also be used with Open Material Mode, opening up material possibilities even more to any 405nm photopolymer resin.
