Headmade Materials GmbH, the pioneer of ColdMetalFusion, has added its self-developed and in-house manufactured binder system technology to the ColdMetalFusion Alliance for powder metallurgy, which enables customers to produce metal parts cost-effectively and in serial production. More partners are set to join ColdMetalFusion later this year.

The company already launched its 316L and Ti6Al4V materials and intends to launch 17/4PH stainless steel and M2 tool steel – serving a broad range of applications. Additionally, Headmade Materials has showcased its strength in processing particularly difficult metals with the launch of its M2 tool steel for ColdMetalFusion. With these capabilities, Headmade Materials helps its customers develop applications and materials, as well as to manufacture on a large scale.

ColdMetalFusion is an alliance of industry leaders with decades of experience in the fields of sintering, 3D printing, and classical industrial manufacturing. Together, the Alliance members provide services, equipment, material, software, and know-how to customers in the metal manufacturing industry.

“Headmade Materials is currently developing a broad range of key materials for the toolbox of application developers. The speed of this year’s development time makes us very enthusiastic about the future where we intend to provide tailor-made material solutions for our customers,” said Christian Staudigel, Co-CEO of Headmade Materials.

“Thanks to ColdMetalFusion we were able to find applications where we can help customers change the rules of the game in their market. To enable this at large scale, we are looking forward to forge robust and reliable standards together with the Alliance,” said Christian Fischer, Co-CEO of Headmade Materials.

ColdMetalFusion’s vision is to industrialize additive manufacturing through common standards in between sintering and additive manufacturing. ColdMetalFusion members not only share standards but also a common culture and way of thinking.  As ‘industrialists’ with a long history, the members have an exigence of robustness and 24/7 factory operation.

At Formnext, in November, in Frankfurt, Germany, ColdMetalFusion members will demonstrate the alliance’s mission of industrialization. Headmade Materials will be present at the ColdMetalFusion booth where customers can experience the newly qualified materials for the first time.
