# Grenzebach secures 155-unit Dual Setup Stations order from EOS

The [Grenzebach Group](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/grezenbach/) secured an order from [EOS](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/eos/) for 155 Grenzebach Dual Setup Stations, automated production cells for additive manufacturing. Grenzebach Additive Solutions GmbH, spun off from the Grenzebach Group at the start of 2026, called the deal a milestone in its partnership with EOS and pointed to the growing role of automation in industrial additive manufacturing.

EOS placed an initial order for 40 systems before and during Formnext 2025. After the launch of its new metal 3D printing system, the EOS M4 ONYX, the order grew by 115 units, with EOS expecting further demand through the year.

## A new M4 ONYX era

EOS introduced the M4 ONYX at Formnext 2025, describing higher productivity, improved waste handling, and expanded automation features compared to earlier systems. The Grenzebach Dual Setup Station, EOS Edition, forms a central part of that setup. The station allows operators to prepare build jobs in parallel while printing continues and automates the exchange of build cylinders, cutting job changeover time to under 30 minutes and reducing machine downtime. EOS said the result supports cost-efficient production around the clock.

Grenzebach adapted the Dual Setup Station specifically for the M4 ONYX, changing the build cylinder design, handling processes, ergonomics, and automation logic, and updating its exterior to match the M4 ONYX's dark design.

## Together since 2016

The order builds on a relationship between Grenzebach and EOS that dates to 2016. The NextGenAM project, launched in 2017, marked an early milestone by introducing fully automated serial production processes for metal components. The two companies later extended their work to polymer processes and collaborated through the Polyline research project.

The order also marks an early success for Grenzebach Additive Solutions GmbH, which has operated as an independent company within the Grenzebach Group since January 1, 2026, under Dimitrios Livadas, who took over as head of the new entity on April 1. Grenzebach said the spin-off aims to concentrate its technological expertise and improve responsiveness in the additive manufacturing market. Steven Althaus, CEO of the Grenzebach Group, said additive manufacturing grew almost 20 percent and that the new structure gives the company a foundation to build on that growth and better support customers.
