Gershenfeld, Průša and Banzi to speak at FAB25 in Czechia

FAB25 Czechia is set to become the global hub of innovation from July 4 to 11, 2025, as Brno and Prague welcome some of the world’s leading figures in digital fabrication, open-source technology, STEM education, and creative entrepreneurship. With keynote appearances by visionaries such as Neil Gershenfeld (MIT), Sherry Lassiter (Fab Foundation), Josef Průša (Prusa Research), Massimo Banzi (Arduino), and Dale Dougherty (Make Magazine), the 21st edition of the international FABx conference promises an unparalleled experience.

Under the unifying theme “Bridge the Gap,” FAB25 will unfold across two of Czechia’s most progressive cities, offering a full week of keynote presentations, over 140 hands-on workshops, laboratory tours, tech demos, and networking opportunities for attendees from more than 55 countries. It’s not just a conference—it’s a celebration of technology, community, and collaboration.

Neil Gershenfeld, director of the MIT Center for Bits and Atoms and the founder of the global FabLab movement, will open the lineup of thought-provoking speakers alongside Sherry Lassiter, president of the Fab Foundation. The roster also features Josef Průša, the innovator behind accessible 3D printing qand founder of Prusa Research; Massimo Banzi, a global advocate for electronics education through Arduino; and Dale Dougherty, the father of the modern Maker Movement.

But beyond the world-class speakers, FAB25 offers a series of unique and engaging experiences. One of the main attractions is PRUSA Day, a full-day event dedicated to cutting-edge 3D printing technology. Josef Průša himself will kick off the event, which includes expert-led workshops and a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the Prusa factory—where some of the most beloved 3D printers in the world come to life.

Another exciting feature is the Maker Train—a traveling hub of creativity that will connect Brno and Prague midweek, turning the journey between cities into a moving makerspace filled with collaboration, networking, and spontaneous innovation. And on July 11th, the conference culminates in the Fab Festival, a free, family-friendly public celebration in Prague that includes creative workshops, live demos, art installations, and outdoor fun.

For younger innovators, the Maker Camp runs parallel to the main event, offering an English-language creative learning experience led by international educators from countries including Japan, Kenya, and Italy. It’s the perfect opportunity for kids to explore STEM, design thinking, and hands-on making in a fun and inclusive environment.

FAB25 is going to be a week-long innovation holiday. Hosted in Brno, Czechia’s capital of technology, and Prague, a UNESCO heritage city full of charm, history, and culture, this event is ideal for families, creators, and curious minds.
