Freeform, a trailblazer in AI-driven metal 3D printing, has closed a $67 million Series B funding round which will fund the development and deployment of Skyfall, the company’s next-generation factory platform, scheduled to go live in the first half of 2026.

The California-based company secured funding from a series of investors, including Apandion, AE Ventures, Founders Fund, Linse Capital, NVentures (NVIDIA’s venture capital arm), Threshold Ventures, and Two Sigma Ventures.

“With this raise, we’re launching Skyfall, the world’s fastest laser melting platform,” stated Erik Palitsch, CEO and Co-Founder at Freeform. “Skyfall increases production capacity by 25x and solidifies our position as the industry’s most advanced software-defined factory, and the only one deploying Physical AI to enable entirely new classes of products.”

Freeform has closed a $67m Series B funding round which will fund the company's next-generation factory platform Skyfall.

The company claims Skyfall will be capable of producing thousands of kilograms of high-quality parts per day, broadening its material offerings by more than 10 times. It will serve as the foundation of Freeform’s first automated, software-defined factory.

Freeform also claims to have developed proprietary technology across robotics, sensing, simulation, control, machine learning, and verification — built from first principles to function as a unified platform. The company states that this architecture enables faster product iteration, higher manufacturing yield, and scalable production.

“At Freeform, we’ve reinvented the underlying technology itself, proving that treating the factory as a single, AI-native system isn’t just possible, it’s the only way to scale,” added Palitsch. “Today, we’re in continuous production for the world’s most advanced frontier programs. Demand has officially outpaced capacity.”

NVentures and AE Ventures both funded a round worth $14m at the end of 2024 – Freeform joined NVIDIA Inception, a program that supports cutting-edge startups, as part of that process and has since leveraged NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform to supercharge its existing AI-driven platform.

The company is focused on GPU-enabled high-performance computing, which it believes is becoming foundational to physical manufacturing, and Freeform stated that NVIDIA’s computing platforms support the sensing, simulation, and real-time control required for Physical AI in live production environments.
