# AML3D receives $7 million ARCEMY X order from HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding

[AML3D Limited](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/aml3d/) has received an order valued at approximately $7.03 million (AUD $9.9 million) for [four custom large-scale ARCEMY X 6700 additive manufacturing systems from Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS)](https://www.voxelmatters.com/fr/aml3d-recoit-commande-4-5-millions-aud-hii/), a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), the largest military shipbuilder in the United States.

The systems will be supplied from [AML3D's US Technology Center in Stow, Ohio](https://www.voxelmatters.com/aml3d-opens-us-facility-to-bolster-aukus-defense-manufacturing/), with all four units expected to be installed and operational during Q3 of 2027.

The ARCEMY X 6700 systems ordered by NNS are custom configurations based on AML3D's large-scale ARCEMY X platform, modified with an approximately 11,000-kilogram positioner to create a heavy-capacity build capability. 

On completion of the order, NNS will be operating a fleet of six custom [ARCEMY X systems](https://www.voxelmatters.com/fr/repensez-production-metallique-avec-aml3d/), which will be used for a variety of shipbuilding applications including ship component fabrication and replacement.

**Expanding US defense footprint**

“The step change in the size and value of this HII ARCEMY order is very much reflective of the strong and growing demand signals that underpin AML3D's continued expansion into the US defense market,” stated AML3D Chief Executive Officer Sean Ebert.

“It is also a strong endorsement of our US 'Scale up' strategy which included establishing our US Technology Center in Stow, Ohio and our plans to invest $12 million to expand our US production capabilities,.”

**Sector diversification and international demand**

Ebert said the company was also pursuing growth beyond defense. “Not only do we expect to see a continued growth in US defense orders, we are also looking to continue to expand into other sectors.

“We have already successfully supplied ARCEMY technology to the Tennessee Valley Authority, the largest public utility in the US, and are targeting growth across the US Marine, Energy, Aerospace and Oil & Gas sectors.
