Formnext 2025 to spotlight commercial AM
Event's call for speakers deadline extended to July 31, 2025
If you haven’t already, it is time to mark your calendars: Formnext, one of the additive industry’s most significant events, is back and will bring together people from all over the global AM industry from November 18 to 21, 2025. This year, Formnext 2025 will reportedly be placing a greater focus on commercial AM applications with the aim of showcasing the ways in which AM is giving companies in sectors like mechanical and plant engineering a distinct advantage within the broader marketplace.
Formnext’s honorary sponsor, the VDMA’s (Germany’s mechanical engineering industry association) Additive Manufacturing Working Group will play a key role in this focus, presenting a number of successful use cases from its sector. According to the AM event, these use cases demonstrate how additive solutions are empowering mechanical engineering end users to solve challenges related to resource efficiency, functional integration and part development.
“To achieve the desired level of industry awareness, it is vital that expert networks such as the VDMA and high-profile platforms such as Formnext work together efficiently,” said Dr. Markus Heering, Managing Director of the AM Association of the VDMA. Indeed, what better way to showcase AM’s commercial and industrial success than through impactful applications. Formnext 2025 visitors will be able to see many of these relevant use cases in the VDMA’s Show Case Area, which in 2025 has the theme of “Profitable Industrial Solutions.”
Formnext 2025, call for speakers
In addition to announcing the VDMA-supported focus, Formnext organizers are also reminding industry members that it is still accepting applications for speakers for its Application and Industry Stages. The deadline has been extended to July 31, 2025.
Formnext 2025’s stage program covers three stages, the Industry, Application and Technology Stages, on which industry experts will share their insights and perspectives with audiences. The Application Stage, for which there is still an open call for speakers, will provide a platform for discussing practical applications for additive manufacturing and new application ideas.
“With the increasing industrialization of additive manufacturing, commercially successful applications are growing in number and in relevance,” commented Christoph Stüker, Vice President Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt. “Sharing these use cases is essential to establish AM in other sectors and develop new solutions for specific challenges.”
On the Industry Stage, various entrepreneurs and experts will talk about challenges facing the industry, such as sustainability, as well as topics like artificial intelligence, funding, certifications and standards, education and skills and more. The Technology Stage (no longer open for speaker applications), will look at the latest technological developments in the industry.
As of March 2025, 533 companies from 34 countries had already registered to exhibit their solutions and services at Formnext 2025. It is also still possible to register as an exhibitor for the upcoming event.
