Formlabs is launching something big on June 9th

Formlabs will unveil a new product on June 9 at 9:00 AM ET in a live YouTube stream. The company offered no details beyond the date, but the language around the announcement—framing it as “the next wave” following its entries into SLA and SLS—signals something big.

Formlabs reshaped the desktop SLA market when it launched its first Form printer, bringing professional-grade resin printing to a broader industrial audience. It repeated the move in polymer powder bed fusion with the Fuse 1, a machine that now accounts for roughly 60 percent of polymer powder printer units shipped worldwide, according to the company. VoxelMatters’ own data also independently confirms this figure.

In recent months and years, the polymer powder bed fusion segment has become increasingly relevant to Formlabs and to the AM industry in general, as more companies introduce technologies tailored for mass-part production. HP launched the MJF 1200 to broaden its reach. Stratasys continues to push on SAF technology, while EOS and many Chinese companies are building increasingly powerful and automated SLS systems.
