# Formlabs introduces Color Resin V5 and True Cast Resin

Manufactured to order with at least one liter and a one-week lead time, this resin removes the need for time-consuming painting or dyeing, which is traditionally necessary to achieve colored SLA prints.

Unlike FDM printers that struggle with precise color matching or the long timelines and high costs of injection molding, Color Resin V5 allows fast and cost-effective production of detailed parts. Users can easily produce color-coded jigs, lifelike prototypes, or standout props. The cost and turnaround time are significantly reduced compared to painted or outsourced alternatives.

The process is simple: users download a custom Print Settings file through PreForm once a color is selected and ordered. After printing, post-processing involves a brief wash and cure. The result is a high-quality, durable part ready for use. Currently available in the U.S., Color Resin V5 is expected to roll out to more regions soon.
