SLA 3D printing company Formlabs is now offering customers a new package to facilitate additive manufacturing adoption and scaling. The new product offering, Formlabs Factory Solutions, combines 3D printing hardware, software and materials.

Formlabs Factory Solutions is essentially a 3D printing ecosystem that enables businesses to build tailored 3D printing factories for their given market. The company says of the new offering: “Our goal was to offer [businesses] the ability to build an agile factory the way [they] want it with intuitive tools, transparent pricing, and proven processes. Use additive manufacturing to scale production of new products fast, driving revenue and beating competitors to market.”

The factory solutions comprise three key elements: the custom factory package, custom material development and Formlabs consulting. The custom factory package is based on the company’s highly scalable Form 3 system. The company says its factory solutions are intended for the production of at least 10,000 parts a year.

The custom material development offering is fairly self explanatory: Formlabs’ team of expert material scientists will work with Factory Solutions customers to develop materials that meet their specific requirements, including tensile strength, elongation properties and tear strength. Formlabs does also have a wide selection of commercially ready SLA materials to work with.

Last but not least, Formlabs consulting has been established to support customers as they implement and utilize their agile 3D printing factory. The consulting service will cover all steps of the production, from product conception to print optimization and final production. The consulting can also be used to other ends, including creating business plans and project feasibility studies. Formlabs says: “We’re here to help you perfect your facility and workflow, become self-sufficient, and take control of your supply chain.”

Overall, the company hopes that its new comprehensive factory offering will give its customers the tools and knowledge to exploit the benefits of additive manufacturing and grow their respective businesses.
