Formlabs Announces Integration with Gravotech’s 3DESIGN at Vicenza Oro

Formlabs, manufacturer of accessible 3D printing systems, today announced a software partnership with Gravotech, developer of 3DESIGN, a leading jewelry CAD program. With its powerful free-form sculpting module 3SHAPER and rendering companion DeepImage, 3DESIGN brings a competitive software solution to jewelers looking for the latest technologies to enhance their creativity and shorten design and production times.
Formlabs shared more details about the news at VicenzaOro (January 20-25, 2017, Vicenza, Italy) and will again at JCK Tucson (February 1-4, Tucson, Arizona, USA), two of the world’s leading jewelry shows. As the go-to jewelry CAD program in the industry, Formlabs’ software integration with 3DESIGN will enable jewelry designers to take any model from the program’s design environment and transfer it to Formlabs’ Preform software to begin the printing process.
Using Formlabs’ new One Click Print functionality, designers can begin printing within minutes. Earlier last year, Formlabs announced a partnership with Gesswein, the global supplier in jewelry making, as well as introduced a reformulated Castable Resin, Formlabs’ functional resin for jewelry applications that achieves extraordinary fine detail, incredible accuracy and superior finish.
In recent years, as jewelry applications in desktop 3D printing have rapidly taken off, Formlabs has become the go-to professional 3D printing company for jewelry professionals who recognize Formlabs’ machines, range of resin materials, and products have become indispensable tools for jewelry innovation. From fine jewelry designers Isaac Cohen and Sarah Graham, to luxury designer John Brevard, to modern fine jewelry company Zina Sterling, Formlabs technologies enable jewelry professionals to use digital manufacturing to transform the jewelry industry through 3D printing, allowing them to quickly prototype and perfect new designs, make hundreds of prints a day, and move directly into production.
