Flashforge CJ270 full-color material jetting 3D printer ships October 15 for under $4,000

Flashforge will ship the first units of its CJ270 full-color 3D printer on October 15, 2026, putting material jetting with CMYK, white and clear resins on the desktop at a price of $3,999. The first 100 units ship by air. Later pre-orders will also ship by air, in the order they were placed. Pre-orders opened on September 9 at a regular price of $4,499, which Flashforge has currently cut by $500.

That price puts full-color material jetting within reach of individual creators and small studios for the first time. Until now the technology has been limited to industrial systems costing ten times as much or more. The CJ270 measures 697 × 410 × 405 mm and weighs 33.5 kg, so it fits on a desk at less than 1/20 the size of those systems. It runs at under 55 dB and has a built-in activated carbon filter to reduce odors and airborne particles.

The machine uses seven industrial-grade inkjet printheads to jet six base resins (cyan, magenta, yellow, black, white and clear) plus a water-soluble support material, all cured with UV light. The resins are mixed automatically at every layer, which gives more than 10 million color combinations and lets the printer reproduce smooth gradients, skin tones and subtle transitions without hard edges between colors. Layers are 7 μm thick, against the 20 to 30 μm typical of industrial full-color systems. The build volume is 180 × 120 × 100 mm.

The workflow runs through Flashforge’s ColorPrint software, which maps colors across each layer automatically and sends sliced files to the printer over LAN or USB. An AI-assisted modeling tool turns a single 2D image into a print-ready 3D file, so users with no design experience can go from a reference picture to a full-color part. After printing, parts go into water to dissolve the supports. An optional ultrasonic cleaner cuts removal time from around 10 hours to one or two hours. Light sanding, polishing, or a UV-cured gloss coat can add a more refined finish. Automatic leveling keeps first layers consistent, and the machine is ready to print out of the box.

Buyers can add a $49 early bird package. It includes a full-color sample print of a model the buyer submits, with a refund if they are not satisfied with it, and 24 kg of resin delivered at 2 kg per month for a year, which Flashforge values at over $1,500. The package is limited to one per printer, and every order placed during the pre-order period qualifies. The CJ270 carries a 12-month warranty.
