Dutch 3D printing company FELIXprinters has launched its newest 3D printer model, the Pro 3. The new machine, targeted at the professional 3D printing market, introduces a number of new features inspired by customer demand.

Among the Pro 3’s notable improvements is increased automation and intelligence, which will enable users to achieve higher productivity rates and better efficiency. More specifically, FELIXprinters’ new machine integrates automated mototized calibration, a quick-swap print head solution, quickly rotatable print heads in the dual head configuration and a flexplate which enables the quick and easy removal of printed parts.

The new Pro 3 is also built to quickly heat up (and cool down) the print heads, which enables users to benefit from faster dual head print times (by a factor of two, the company specifies). Temperature control has also been improved thanks to dual high power blowers, resulting in more consistent filament extrusion and optimal cooling for the printed object.

“The Pro 3 has been developed to integrate seamlessly into industrial workflows, whether that is in an office, a workshop, lab or factory environment,” said Guillaume Feliksdal, Founder and Director of FELIXprinters. “The priority was to deliver a 3D printer that produces optimized print results—every time! This is what customers tell us is most frustrating for them in their day-to-day operations with 3D printing, and these are the issues we set out to address with the Pro 3. The feedback we are getting back from our beta testers is hugely impressive.”

In addition to the aforementioned features, the Pro 3 also integrates a new touchscreen module with an integrated print server consisting of a small but powerful octacore computer. This feature improves the user friendliness of the 3D printer, offering an intuitive interface as well as real-time, remote webcam monitoring, multi-user control via a web-based interface, print file management, WiFi and Ethernet connectivity, g-code rendering and the ability to make a time lapse of the print.

“Our team at FELIXprinters all have technical engineering backgrounds, so we know that ‘quality in’ equals ‘quality out’,” added Feliksdal. “We have sourced extremely high-quality components to ensure that the Pro series of printers are both robust and reliable—and these are the cornerstone of the new FELIX Pro 3.”

Interestingly, the Pro 3 3D printer release marks a shift back towards the professional market for FELIXprinters, which last year repositioned an area of its business to focus on the education sector, rather than industrial market. Broadly speaking, the company’s strategy is not incompatible with the release of a new professional-grade machine, as it seeks to offer the highest level of additive manufacturing capabilities throughout its portfolio of products.

The Pro 3 3D printer is now on sale for €2,599.
