FELIXprinters announces new high-temperature 3D printers

Dutch 3D printer manufacturer FELIXprinters is preparing to launch a new line of high-temperature 3D printers within the next few weeks. The new system builds on the company’s existing Pro L and XL 3D printing platforms but has a higher temperature capability, offering broader material compatibility. FELIXprinters says the 3D printers are now weeks away from commercial use.

Despite the massive wrench that the coronavirus pandemic has thrown into many businesses’ 2020 plans, FELIXprinters says it has faired relatively well to date. According to Wilgo Feliksdal, Co-Founder of FELIXprinters, the company has experienced continued demand for its industrial 3D printer range as well as its new BIOprinter, which is enabling it to move ahead with its production.

Earlier this year, for instance, the company received a tender from a multinational client interested in the development of high-temperature 3D printers, which Feliksdal says will go into production through Q2 and Q3 2020. The AM system can reportedly reach temperatures up to 400°C and has a large build volume of 600 x 600 x 600 mm.

With high-temp capabilities, the new 3D printer series will be able to print with a broader range of materials, including polycarbonate and polypropylene. The company says its system will have applications for rapid prototyping in the aerospace, engineering, architecture and design industries, among others, helping to reduce turnaround times in the product development process.

As FELIXprinters prepares to bring its new high-temperature systems to market, the company emphasizes that it also developed tailored AM solutions for customers to meet their specific requirements.
