Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Farsoon Technologies has revealed the latest 3D printing series based on its Flight Technology: the 252P series. In addition to the new high-temperature 3D printer model, the company is also announcing two new polymer powder materials for its Flight platform: PA12-based FS3201PA-F and FS2300PA-F PA powder.

Last year, Farsoon debuted its new Flight Technology, a laser sintering process that relies on fiber lasers instead of CO2 lasers to improve productivity and expand the range of possible materials. The latter is possible because the fiber laser reportedly has greater energy absorption and a smaller spot size, which means it can sinter a wider array of powders.

Since introducing its first Flight Technology system, the 403P, the company says it has continued working on the process. The result of this work is the high-temperature 252P 3D printer series, a two-configuration series that can reach chamber temperatures up to 220°C (with the HT version) to 280°C (with the ST version). The printers integrate improved thermal controls and temperature shielded components, as well as enhanced parameters for materials processing. The system has a build chamber of 250 × 250 × 320 mm.

“With a background over 25 years in developing additive systems and material powder, Farsoon is one of the few companies in the market that can harness integrated plastic laser sintering solutions.” said Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, Chairman of Farsoon Technologies. “During the further development and beta-testing, we are convinced by the great potential brought about by establishing a comprehensive machine-material framework for Flight Technology that will accelerate the next steps of additive of productivity, performance and details to an expanding markets and application field.”

Thanks to the fiber laser and its open parameters, the Flight 252P series is compatible with a broad range of materials, including the new PA12-based FS3201PA-F and FS2300PA-F powders released by Farsoon. The former has good mechanical properties, size accuracy and toughness, with enhanced durability and reusability. The material has applications in the automotive, consumer, industrial and electronics markets.

FS2300PA-F, for its part, is a polyamide powder with good plasticity, good toughness and surface quality. The material has been designed for cost-effectiveness: it has an improved production turnover with reduced cost, and is ideal for rapid prototyping or applications with increased profitability. Farsoon is now seeking customers and partners to join its early adopter program for the Flight 252P series and its new materials.
