Faiborida 3D, a manufacturer of industrial additive manufacturing equipment and materials based in Foshan, China, launched the SLM M500, a large-format laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) metal 3D printer with a 500 x 500 x 500 mm build envelope and a four-laser configuration.

Faiborida 3D launches SLM M500 quad-laser metal 3D printer with a 500 x 500 x 500 mm build envelope for larger partsThe system runs four 500 W IPG fiber lasers operating at 1064 nm, paired with SCANLAB scanning systems and F-theta lenses. Layer thickness can be set between 0.02 and 0.2 mm, and forming efficiency ranges from 20 to 80 cm³/h. Dimensional accuracy is ±0.1 mm for parts up to 100 mm and ±0.1% of length for anything larger.

The M500 processes stainless steel, cobalt-chromium, titanium alloys, tool steel, aluminum alloys and high-temperature alloys. Faiborida also produces its own metal powders for LPBF, alongside photopolymer resins and FDM filaments.

Faiborida designed the four-laser setup for users who need a higher build rate per job. That can mean producing larger single parts or fitting more parts into each build, without the floor-space and throughput limits of single- and dual-laser mid-frame systems.

The new machine joins Faiborida’s existing SLM lineup, which includes the SLM M100, M150D and M280 and covers applications from research to production. The company’s portfolio also spans SLA resin and FDM 3D printers.
