Exclusive: Former Stratasys US President Gilad Gans joins Roboze

With over 30 years of professional experience in general management and executive positions in Government and international enterprises, including executive positions at Stratasys, Gilad Gans is now joining the Advisory Board of upstart industrial extrusion 3D printer manufacturer ROBOZE.
“To realize our vision, to distribute manufacturing close to the point of use, we need to learn from the past in order to better define the future. I am sure that having an industry titan like Gilad on our advisory board, will be incredibly beneficial for all of us,” commented Alessio Lorusso, Founder & CEO of ROBOZE.
Covid-19 showed how obsolete and unsustainable the current supply chain is, where parts are produced in one place and shipped all over the world. The crisis has shown that there exists an urgent need to bring manufacturing back to the point of use and that it must be part of the value within the territory where it is carried out and where parts find their concrete application. This will reduce the impact of CO2 emissions, producing parts just in time and on-demand, close to the point of use. ROBOZE set out to re-shore production, reduce warehouse costs and shippings, creating a more sustainable future, and realizing the vision of distributed manufacturing in the world.

“I met Alessio a few years ago and from that time we regularly speak. A few weeks ago, we spoke again and after understanding better the current and future technologies the company is working on, along with the growth plan and vision behind the ROBOZE distributed manufacturing, we jointly decided to start embracing this new adventure,” Mr. Gans commented. “ROBOZE demonstrated groundbreaking high temperature and composites materials extrusion technology, with a long list of happy customers and real validated industrial applications across strategic industries like space, defense, energy, electrical mobility, transportation. ROBOZE has hundreds of machines in the world, and now, thanks to the manufacturing as a service unit, ROBOZE 3D Parts, ROBOZE is helping customers to scale production close to the point of use, just in time and on-demand. I am seeing here a great scaling production opportunity with 3D Printing, which is based on innovative, smarter and customer-oriented business models,” Gans added.
Mr. Gans will be able to contribute to the realization of this vision leveraging over 30 years of professional experience in general management and executive positions within Government, large, midsized and small global and international enterprises. In the last 5 years, Mr. Gans co-founded several successful 3D printing and additive manufacturing companies, including 3DMeditech, SmileStyler and Serkel. This in addition to him being an Executive Board Member of several 3D printing and additive manufacturing companies. Until 2016, he served as the North America President for Stratasys, managing end-to-end Stratasys NA subsidiary. He held several Executive roles in the AM industry, prior to Stratasys President, including EVP Global Sales, Marketing and Business Development of Objet and after the merger with Stratasys, EVP Global Field Operations. From 2003 to 2009 he worked for market-leading ERP company SAP. He had several Executive roles, including VP Public Services EMEA and CEO of the Israeli subsidiary. Mr. Gans served 6 years in the Israeli Defense Forces and holds a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences and Economics, certified lawyer, with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B), all from Tel Aviv University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Economics (Cum Laude) from the Hebrew University and has attended the Regional Management Development Program (RMDP), INSEAD. During 2015, Mr. Gans attended the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School.
“To realize our vision of distributing manufacturing across the world, we need to fill all the gaps. The best technology is just one of the gaps we filled so far. It is now the right time to scale up the business globally and to do it we need experienced executives as well as young talents”, continued Lorusso. “We need the best, not just good ones. Young talents, along with long track executives who wrote the history of our industry, will drive ROBOZE to the next disruptive steps we are all working for. ROBOZE is going to deploy into the market innovative business models and game-changing technologies that will determine a complete change of paradigm in the diffusion of high-performance 3D printing technology across the globe” concluded Lorusso.
