# Formnext Asia Shenzhen 2026 broadens desktop 3D printing’s shift into production

[Formnext Asia Shenzhen 2026](https://www.voxelmatters.com/event/formnext-asia-shenzhen-2026/) is set to return to the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center from Aug. 26–28 with a stronger emphasis on desktop additive manufacturing (AM) used for production. With eight months to go, nearly 70% of available space has been reserved, according to the organizer, following a 2025 edition that reported a 78% increase in visitors and more than double the level of international attendance.

Exhibitors will feature printing equipment, materials, workflow and automation software, post-processing systems and production services.

Returning brands include Addireen, HP, Han’s Matrix, UnionTech, Basic Software, CNPC Powder, SUNLU and eSUN, while first-time participants cited by the organizer include Kingfa Biomaterial, Fastform 3D, Scantech and Smartwin.

## Desktop AM’s production use case grows

Shenzhen’s concentration of desktop 3D printer manufacturing is attracting more suppliers serving commercial production, rather than only prototyping or hobbyist use. Print farms—clusters of coordinated desktop machines producing end-use parts—are a focal point, creating demand for design software, materials development, automated post-processing, and sales channels such as service bureaus and online marketplaces.

The organizer reports that this trend is reflected in the exhibitor mix at the 2026 fair, which adds suppliers in AI-assisted modeling and materials, including Meshy AI and Kingfa Biomaterial. Specific shipment sources and methodology were not disclosed.

## Consumer-grade ecosystems

The show’s 3D Print Farm Conference will be upgraded to the China 3D Print Farm and Consumer-Grade AM Ecosystem Conference, with Meshy AI listed as title sponsor. Now in its third year, the program is set to extend beyond farm operations to the broader toolchain required for scaled production.

Planned sessions will cover AI-assisted design and modeling, materials selection, workflow and automation software, post-processing, and routes to market for volume production. These additions will run alongside the wider fringe program, which in 2025 featured 14 sessions and more than 150 presentations across sectors, including automotive, 3C electronics, mold-making, and footwear.
