EXPERIENCE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING is the innovative trade fair in multi-location format for additive manufacturing. It was first held in 2018 and takes place annually.

Additive manufacturing is a central future topic within the megatrend “Industry 4.0”. The innovative process with its diverse forms is on the strategic agenda of corporations, leading research institutes and development institutions as well as small and medium-sized companies from almost all manufacturing sectors.

The EXPERIENCE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING (EAM for short) makes AM tangible, creates transparency and an overview in the massively growing additive manufacturing market, which has reached the threshold of series production. With practical business cases, innovations and up-to-date, tangible exhibits, EAM supports current and future market participants to grasp the infinite possibilities of AM across processes, applications and materials and promotes the exchange of information and knowledge transfer.

The event was initiated as a multi-location event together with the Fraunhofer IGCV and the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management iwb of the Technical University of Munich to support companies in the make-or-buy decision for the use of additive manufacturing processes.

The EAM takes place in the heart of southern Germany and thus in one of the strongest urban areas for additive manufacturing. The southern German economy covers the entire AM value chain and includes an unusually large number of users and not-yet-users of AM technologies. As the second oldest city in Germany, Augsburg is not only an attractive and charming trade fair location, but is also located in a booming economic and production region.
