Additive Manufacturing Trends: Printing High Strength Composites

May 20, 2021 @ 18:00 - 19:00

Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF), also known as pellet 3D printing, is an extrusion-based 3D printing technique where plastic granules (pellets) are melted and fed through a nozzle. Using screw and barrel technology similar to injection molding, pellet 3D printing enables operators to tap into a variety of materials not available for additive manufacturing today while drastically increasing print speeds.

These materials can be engineered to increase performance far beyond that of traditional 3D printing materials, as well. DSM Additive Manufacturing’s (now Covestro) EcoPAXX® AM4001 GF (G) is a high-strength Nylon composite that demonstrates the superiority of FGF materials over traditional alternatives, but what exactly does that mean? How difficult is it to print a high-strength Nylon with pellet 3D printing? Where can FGF composites make an impact for manufacturers?

Join us (JuggerBot 3D & Covestro) as we dive into the performance, processing, and applications of high-strength FGF Nylon composites.
