EUROCEMENT and Specavia partner to massively upscale construction 3D printing

The largest producer of building materials in the CIS (the Commonwealth of former Soviet Republics) – the  EUROCEMENT group holding and Specavia (AMT-SPETSAVIA), a world-leading developer and manufacturer of professional 3D equipment for the construction industry formed a official cooperation to develop new materials optimized for construction 3D printing and further expand the use of this technology.

The document was signed by the President of the EUROCEMENT group Mikhail Skorokhod and the General Director of the Group of companies AMT-SPETSAVIA Alexander Maslov. The agreement provides for the cooperation of the two companies in the field of innovative development of building technologies and materials by expanding the use of 3D printers, the development of special cement and other construction mixtures based on them for 3D printing.

We are actively working in this direction, we are studying the best world experience, we are introducing advanced technologies at enterprises, we are developing innovative building materials. One of the most promising areas for the development of the construction industry today is the expansion of the use of 3D printing technologies I am sure that the cooperation of EUROCEMENT group with AMT-SPETSAVIA, the leading manufacturer of 3D equipment for construction, will allow us to create a truly unique integrated product that will multiply increase efficiency and cut construction costs.”Mikhail Skorokhod. 

The first residential building in Russia, built using a 3D construction printer, was presented by AMT-SPETSAVIA in October 2017. Currently, in Copenhagen (Denmark), the 3D Printhuset company is using a 3D printer manufactured by AMT-SPETSAVIA to 3D print an office with an area of 55 sq.m. This will be Europe’s first building, built on 3D technology and fully compliant with EU standards.

“The signing of the agreement with EUROCEMENT Group, the leader of the Russian construction materials industry, with exclusive competence and experience, will contribute to the active development of Russian additive technologies, the emergence of innovative building materials, and the improvement of the technological efficiency of the construction industry,” said Alexander Maslov. “Our plans include the active development of export supplies of companies’ products and the joint development of new export directions.”

EUROCEMENT group is an international industrial Holding company and Russia’s leading producer of construction materials; it is included in the list of companies which form the backbone of Russian industry, as approved by decision of the Government of the Russian Federation on February 5, 2015. EUROCEMENT group is one of the top five biggest cement companies in the world; it has a total of 19 cement plants in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, as well as plants for the manufacturing of concrete and reinforced concrete, and quarries for the mining of aggregates. Its reserves amount to more than 5.5 billion tons.

More than 300 million people are consumers of the products made by EUROCEMENT group.

By supplying construction materials to major infrastructure sites, EUROCEMENT group Holding company is changing the look of contemporary towns and cities. The Holding company’s capacity enables it to construct up to 100 million m2 of residential housing and 70 million m2 of industrial facilities and lay 20,000 km of roads. The construction materials produced by EUROCEMENT group are being used to erect residential buildings, infrastructure for industry and roads, sports, social and cultural venues, including the runways at Pulkovo and Kazan airports, the Plesetsk and Baikonur cosmodromes, metro stations in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Samara, Olympic venues in Sochi, stadiums for the football World Cup in 2018, high-rise office blocks in Moscow City, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow and a host of other buildings.
