eSUN Group reports strong revenue growth (+41.43%) in first half of 2025
The 3D printing materials business (filaments and resins) grew by an impressive 47%
In the first half of 2025, Shenzhen Esun Industrial Co., Ltd. (eSUN Group), one of the first and largest Chinese 3D printing filament manufacturers, reported strong financial performance, confirming its resilience, solid innovation capabilities, and strategic focus on sustainable growth. The company registered an operating revenue of RMB 343.76 million (about $48 million), representing a substantial year-on-year increase of 41.43%. Net profit reached RMB 27 million (about 3.7 million), growing 48.6% compared with the same period last year. These results underscore the group’s steady progress in both its core businesses of 3D printing and eco-friendly biodegradable materials.
eSUN’s net cash flow from operating activities amounted to RMB 50.87 million ($7 million), providing a solid foundation for further expansion and technological advancement. The company also increased its research and development investment by 22.4% year-on-year, a move that highlights its long-term commitment to innovation and industrial leadership.
Two major pillars of the business drove revenue growth. The 3D printing segment, one of eSUN’s strongest markets, recorded an impressive revenue increase of 46.93%, while income from eco-friendly materials rose by 19%. Together, these segments reinforce the company’s dual commitment to technological innovation and sustainable industrial practices.
Founded in 2002, Shenzhen Esun Industrial Co., Ltd. has built a reputation as a leader in sustainable manufacturing and eco-friendly materials. The company has consistently pursued the industrialization of biomaterials and eco-solvents, becoming a recognized national high-tech enterprise. Its achievements have earned it recognition as one of China’s top 10 enterprises in the light industrial plastics sector, particularly in the field of degradable plastics. Furthermore, eSUN has been listed on the Chinese National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) since 2016 under stock code 836514.

Headquartered in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District, eSUN operates an industrial park in Xiaogan, Hubei, and maintains branches in Wuhan, Beijing, and Hong Kong. Internationally, the company has expanded its presence with branches in Vietnam, the United States, and Europe, supported by offices and warehouses in Suzhou, Xiaogan, and Vietnam. This global footprint enables eSUN to serve customers in over 100 countries, making it an internationally recognized brand in both 3D printing polymers and biopolymers.
eSUN’s business primarily focuses on the research, development, production, and sales of 3D printing materials and environmentally friendly, biodegradable materials. Its 3D printing product line includes extrusion 3D printing filaments and photopolymer resins, while its eco-friendly biodegradable materials portfolio features polylactic acid, lactate ester, and polycaprolactone. These products serve as sustainable alternatives to traditional plastics, positioning eSUN as a pioneer in advancing the global circular economy.
The company is also recognized as a national, specialized, and innovation-driven “little giant” enterprise. It has established significant research infrastructure, including an academic expert workstation, a post-doctor innovation practice base, and an enterprise technology center in Hubei Province. Additionally, eSUN has partnered with educational institutions to establish a biomaterial research and development center, demonstrating its emphasis on collaboration and long-term innovation.
With an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of polymers and modified materials, eSUN has accumulated more than 90 patents, primarily for invention. Moreover, in August 2023, eSUN led the release of ISO 5425:2023, the first international standard for 3D printing materials in China, specifically addressing the use of polylactic acid-based filament in additive manufacturing.
Looking ahead, eSUN is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory. Its focus on expanding R&D investment, strengthening its global market presence, and leading industry standards ensures that it remains at the forefront of both the 3D printing and biodegradable materials industries. The company’s strategy of aligning profitability with sustainability reflects its vision to contribute meaningfully to eco-friendly innovation and a greener future.
