Erpro 3D Factory first to offer 3D printed parts made from Arkema’s Pebax Rnew

The new bio-based elastomer exhibits higher energy return compared TPU

Erpro 3D Factory has reached a significant milestone by developing an integrated supply chain in Europe to produce custom parts made from Arkema’s innovative bio-based Pebax Rnew elastomers by selective laser sintering (SLS) Technology. In 2021 Arkema acquired a 10% stake in Erpro 3D Factory (E3DF) to gain new expertise and accelerate the development of new applications for its high-performance polymers.

Erpro 3D Factory to offer 3D printed parts made from Arkema’s Pebax Rnew, a bio-based elastomer exhibiting higher energy return than TPU Arkema’s Pebax Rnew elastomers, which are produced partially from renewable castor beans, are known worldwide for their use in demanding applications such as high-performance sports shoes, consumer electronics, and medical devices. Parts made from these innovative elastomers are typically specified for their combination of lightweight and outstanding energy return and are most commonly manufactured by injection and extrusion processes. The ability to now custom manufacture 3D printed parts from these materials at a large scale opens up new possibilities for our customers and is a milestone for both Erpro 3D Factory and Arkema.

Pebax elastomers take our offer up to a whole new level – both in terms of performance, and use of renewable resources.”

To streamline the ordering process, parts printed from the new Pebax Rnew powder will be available on the EASY3D platform. This user-friendly platform allows customers to instantly receive quotes and place orders for their desired parts.
