Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Eplus3D reported another large order for quad-laser EP-M650 metal 3D printers in Q1 2021. A total of 3 EP-M650 metal powder bed fusion systems will be delivered to an undisclosed aerospace company. The total value of this order is over $4 million US.

Large-scale metal 3D printers are in rapidly growing demand in the market. Many enterprises are adopting these 3D metal printing technologies to produce cost-effective metal parts and prototypes, benefiting as from increased freedom of design through additive manufacturing. New applications are emerging in industries such as aerospace, automotive, health, engineering, and more.

Eplus3D reports sale of 3 large EP-M650 metal PBF systems With a 340-liter (655 x 655 x 800 mm) build chamber, the EP-M650 is a large format metal printer developed for reliable production of high-quality, large metallic parts on an industrial scale, without requiring any tools. With a user-friendly software interface, one-click printing ability and a quad-laser configuration, the EP-M650 is meant to push digital additive manufacturing one step ahead in the field of large-scale industrial applications.

In order to achieve higher productivity, the EP-M650 features bi-directional powder recoating, with a high building speed up to 120cm3 /h. Printing large layer thicknesses of more than 60 microns is also possible. available. The machine’s coarse and fine blow-back enabled filtration system ensures that the filter lifetime is greater than 1000 hrs. Eplus3D’s complete open system approach also makes the EP-M650 a very powerful tool for large-scale manufactures as they have complete freedom to choose their print strategies with different metal powders such as stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and nickel alloys, reducing the overall cost of ownership.
