# EOS to unveil new polymer AM solution at Formnext

[Polymer PBF market leader EOS](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/eos/) is set to unveil a new polymer additive manufacturing (AM) technology at the upcoming Formnext event. It’s anticipated to enhance efficiency and affordability for both seasoned professionals and those new to polymer additive manufacturing.

Back in 2018, EOS introduced the concept for LaserProFusion technology, marking a major leap forward for polymer additive manufacturing. This technology features an array of nearly one million diode lasers, each melting material layer by layer, with a productivity level to rival traditional injection molding for various applications.

The LaserProFusion system's million diode lasers are each precisely controlled according to CAD data for exact pixel-level accuracy. With this level of control, EOS’s LaserProFusion is meant to achieve a combined output of up to 5 kilowatts, significantly reducing exposure times per layer, regardless of part quantity or geometry. This technology could provide an effective injection molding alternative, especially for complex, custom, or short-run production needs.

When initially introducing this technology, EOS’s Chief Technical Officer Dr. Tobias Abeln remarked: "With LaserProFusion, we achieve a new level of productivity in polymer industrial 3D printing for serial manufacturing. This technology can replace injection molding in many applications, enabling tool-free injection molding and expanding industrial 3D printing to new markets."

Over the past six years, EOS has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to developing this system, fostering industry anticipation that a LaserProFusion-based machine could soon hit the market.
