EOS selected by Ursa Major to accelerate hypersonics and defense manufacturing
Deal involves purchase of three AMCM M 450-4 FLX systems
Aerospace and defense leader Ursa Major has expanded its commitment to EOS metal additive manufacturing technology with the purchase of three AMCM M 450-4 FLX systems. This addition brings Ursa Major’s EOS-powered fleet to six metal AM systems, strengthening its ability to scale hypersonics production at its rapidly growing facility in Youngstown, Ohio.
As demand for advanced aerospace and national security applications rises, Ursa Major is relying on EOS’ proven laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) 3D printing technology, along with EOS’ deep expertise and collaborative approach to innovation in metal AM.

This collaboration goes beyond hardware. Ursa Major is also working closely with EOS and its AMCM group to leverage EOS’ laser toolpath API with full engineering support. This software-driven flexibility unlocks greater customization and aligns with Ursa Major’s advanced internal capabilities.

The newly acquired AMCM M 450-4 FLX systems feature cutting-edge beam shaping technology and deliver high-speed, high-power performance. They join Ursa Major’s existing systems, including an AMCM M 290-1 FLX and two EOS M 400 systems. All equipment will be installed at the company’s Youngstown, Ohio site, reinforcing its commitment to scalable, U.S.-based additive manufacturing.
