Additive manufacturing company EOS North America has introduced the new INTEGRA P 450 system for mid-range polymer 3D printing. The new selective laser sintering system is available exclusively in North America and is designed to help users move seamlessly from prototyping to serial production.

“Built upon decades of industry feedback, the INTEGRA P 450 bridges the gap from prototyping to serial production,” EOS North America says. “Offering simplicity, serviceability, sustainability and scalability in an open laser sintering platform.”

The new system, the latest in EOS’ INTEGRA series, has improved printing consistency and build volume usage, thanks to eight independently controlled heating zones. Other notable features include a dual-roller recoating system that applies powder material at a rate of up to 0.4 meters per second, and a 120 Watt Co2 laser with the “fastest scanning times in the industry” (up to 12.7m/s). The printer is also equipped with a thermal imaging camera for quality control and data capturing.

The INTEGRA P 450 is based upon a modular configuration, enabling users to change out and update hardware features like the optics tray, frame system and more. Customers can also select from a range of exchangeable accessories, including laser window units, multibox feed system units, reduced build volume adaptor, breakout station and additional feed hoppers.

In terms of materials, EOS North America is aiming to offer its customers as much flexibility as possible by enabling temperatures of up to 300° C. Depending on the type of powder used, the 3D printer can achieve layer thicknesses of between 0.10 to 0.18 mm.

With the launch of the INTEGRA P 450, EOS North America is introducing a cost-efficient and user-friendly polymer 3D printing solution that is fit for industrial use. With material flexibility, scalability and productivity, the new system is, according to EOS, “the most flexible and accommodating industrial 3D printer on the market.” This accommodation is enabled in large-part through the system’s open software interfaces and the intuitive EOSPRINT 2 software, which makes it easy to go from CAD to print.
