# EOS expands U.S. 3D printer production with $3 million investment in Texas facilities

[EOS is expanding its U.S. manufacturing and logistics operations](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/eos/) with a $3 million investment in Texas, adding capacity for its popular metal additive manufacturing systems and consolidating its North American logistics footprint. The company has reconfigured its production site in Pflugerville and opened a new 40,000-square-foot warehouse in Belton to accelerate regional production and delivery of its AM systems, including the EOS M 290-1, EOS M 290-2, and EOS M 400-4 models.

The Pflugerville expansion includes a new powder-handling area, an in-house machine shop, and 10 new roles across operations, quality assurance, engineering, and machine commissioning. EOS reports that the new setup will streamline assembly and shorten lead times for U.S. customers, particularly in aerospace, medical, and defense manufacturing sectors that increasingly require domestic sourcing.

## Strengthening local production

By expanding its North American manufacturing footprint, EOS aims to improve responsiveness to customer demand and reduce reliance on overseas supply chains. Kent Firestone, Senior Vice President of Operations at EOS North America, said the company’s Texas expansion “enables us to scale North American metal AM assembly with both precision and consistency,” adding that the facility redesign was “carefully designed to accelerate turnaround times while maintaining the quality and reliability our customers expect.”

While the company’s main production base in Maisach, Germany, continues to serve as its global hub, the new Texas facilities are intended to increase resilience and better meet the needs of North American customers. The investment also supports U.S. government procurement requirements that favor domestically manufactured systems.

## A solid U.S. base

The expansion follows EOS’s earlier decision to begin producing its most popular metal 3D printer, the EOS M 290, in the United States starting in early 2025. The M 290, which has more than 2,000 units installed globally, is used across medical, tooling, aerospace, and energy industries. Production initially focuses on single-laser configurations, with future scaling anticipated.

EOS has maintained operations in North America for nearly two decades, producing polymer systems such as the INTEGRA P 450 and developing materials through its Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) division in Temple, Texas. All operations are supported by ISO 9001-certified quality systems.

“This manufacturing facility is not just an investment in our own infrastructure; it is also about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the U.S. manufacturing community,” said Glynn Fletcher, President of EOS North America. “We fully understand the criticality that AM plays in the future of domestic manufacturing, and this expansion ensures EOS will continue to play a leading role for years to come.”
