Endurance, a Russian-American tech startup specializing in diode laser cutting and laser engraving systems, is launching a promotion on its 8.5 Watt+ and 10 Watt diode lasers. Until May 31st, makers can benefit from an exclusive 30% discount on the laser modules as well as free shipping.

For makers or small businesses seeking to integrate laser cutting and engraving into their workstations, investing in a standalone engraving unit is not necessarily required. With a bit of the DIY innovation characteristic of makers, 3D printers and CNC machines can be transformed into hybrid units with laser engraving and laser cutting functions.

With a range of diode laser modules on offer, Endurance gives makers, hobbyists and professionals the ability to cut and engrave a range of different materials, including fabrics, plastics, wood, metals, stone and glass. Presently, the company is highlighting some of its higher-grade diode laser modules: the 8.5 Watt+ laser and the 10 Watt laser.

Retailing for $695, the Endurance 8.5 Watt+ laser is a versatile module capable of engraving on a range of metal surfaces, including stainless steel, copper, brass, anodized aluminum, natural stone and glass. Compatible with most 3D printers and CNC machines, the 8.5 Watt+ module can also cut through wood and plywood (3-4 mm thick) in a single pass and can cut through 8 mm dark acrylic in just two or three passes.

For $595, Endurance’s 8 Watt laser is a powerful diode laser well suited for wood and acrylic cutting as well as metal engraving. Compared to the 8.5 Watt+, the 8 Watt laser is slightly slower, taking between 5-25 passes to cut through 6-8 mm wood.

The 10 Watt laser, for its part, is one of Endurance’s flagship products. Notable for its “‘Invincible’ continuous power,” the laser module effortlessly cuts through 10-millimeter-thick wood, plywood, balsa, MDF, acrylic, ABS and more. For engraving applications, the $795 10 Watt laser can etch into many metal materials (such as stainless steel, copper, brass and painted or anodized aluminum) as well as natural stone and glass.

10,000 hours of laser power at 30% off

“Not many companies offer lasers as powerful as we do,” says George Fomitchev, CEO and founder of Endurance. “Unlike other cheap lasers, we offer true and real rated power lasers. We also provide full guidance and tutorials to help our customers install our products on their machines. Our lasers are highly reliable and can work continuously for 48 to 72 hours. Their overall lifetime is 10,000 hours.”

Indeed, Endurance does provide detailed tutorials and guides on its website and YouTube channel, providing instructions on how to physically mount its laser modules onto a range of 3D printer models and CNC machines, as well as on how to connect the laser power to the original machine’s control board. In line with this, the company also offers its clients extensive customer support. For $99.95, it also provides an Ultimate Support option that includes access to all video and support materials, video call privileges, shipment tracking, firmware, additional software and more.

Until May 31st, customers can take advantage of a discount on the 8.5 Watt+ and 10 Watt diode lasers by using the following coupon code: “30% off from Endurance.” In addition, Endurance is also offering free shipping, a free pair of protective goggles, a free G2 lens and a 14-day special return option. This last offer affords customers a two-week trial period during which they can return the laser for a full refund if they are unsatisfied.

If you’ve been looking for a way to diversify your 3D printing workstation, the Endurance deal might well be worth checking out.
