With over a decade of expertise in metal binder jetting, EASYMFG has continually refined its approach to this technology. The Chinese company is looking to fill the void left by Western leaders like Desktop Metal/ExOne, Markforged/Digital Metal, GE and HP, which have failed to build a significant market presence. The company’s journey saw the 2023 debut of the M400Pro, a model engineered for speed and accuracy. Building upon this, EASYMFG introduced the M550Max, a large-format iteration that effectively doubled throughput efficiency compared to its predecessor. The following year, the M150Inno (a name inspired by Desktop Metal’s InnoventX) entered the market as a research-oriented system specifically crafted for experimental alloy development and geometric testing, minimizing material waste while maximizing innovation.

After selling over 80 systems in 2024 (mainly used for metal printing, with some used for sand printing), the company is preparing for the next phase. So far, 90% of systems have been sold in the domestic Chinese market, with 10% sold overseas in Canada, Ukraine, Russia and Thailand. Now, the company is preparing for CE certification of the M150Inno and M400OPro, while the new M200Eco and M400Plus are ready to hit the market in March 2025.

Metal binder jetting has cemented itself as a pivotal force in additive manufacturing due to its rapid production speeds and cost-efficient operation. This method has gained traction in industrial-scale fabrication, yet its success hinges on meticulous process refinement. Each stage—from powder preparation to high-temperature sintering—demands precise control, as even minute deviations can impact the final component’s structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.

The M200Eco, streamlined and cost-efficient

Recognizing the market’s appetite for a more accessible entry point into metal binder jetting, EASYMFG developed the M200Eco. This model is tailored to produce components traditionally manufactured through Metal Injection Molding (MIM), making it particularly well-suited for small and mid-sized enterprises. Its compact frame allows for seamless integration into constrained workspaces, while its advanced precision mirrors the capabilities of the Pro series. By balancing affordability, portability, and accuracy, the M200Eco positions itself as an optimal solution for low-volume production without compromising quality.

M200Eco Technical Specifications:

  • Build Volume: 2.8 liters
  • Build Box Dimensions: 200 x 140 x 100 mm
  • Maximum Printing Speed: 389 cc/hour
  • Layer Thickness: Adjustable from 30 to 100 µm
  • Part Accuracy: ±0.05 mm

M400Plus, performance and material control

Alongside the M200Eco, EASYMFG introduces the M400Plus—an advanced iteration that refines the architecture of the Pro and Max series. Engineered with a fully enclosed framework, this model enhances safety measures and optimizes powder handling, curbing environmental contamination. Incorporating a precision Z-axis lifting mechanism, paired with an improved powder dispensing and recoating system, fortifies material density while mitigating particulate dispersion. Its sealed automatic doors and precision-driven motion control also ensure a more consistent, stable output.

M400Plus Technical Specifications:

  • Build Volume: 20 liters
  • Build Box Dimensions: 400 x 250 x 200 mm
  • Maximum Printing Speed: 1340 cc/hour
  • Layer Thickness: Adjustable from 30 to 100 µm
  • Part Accuracy: ±0.05 mm

The future of metal binder jetting

While Western companies struggled more than expected to build the metal binder jetting market for high throughput part production, the trend seems to be changing. HP recently reported that the partnership with IndoMIM is growing with multiple systems. Desktop Metal and Markforged need to resolve their financial issues, but their technologies will ultimately be adopted. In the meantime, the unveiling of the M200Eco and M400Plus underscores EASYMFG’s emerging as the go-to partner for many companies initially attracted to metal binder jetting by promises of high throughput automated production capabilities.

These innovations address efficiency, scalability, and environmental sustainability and are poised to accelerate the adoption of metal additive manufacturing. With enhanced precision, streamlined material usage, and improved production flexibility, EASYMFG is now emerging as the company pushing the boundaries of what is possible in industrial 3D printing.
