Dyndrite and Elementum3D partner to offer metal 3D printing with controlled permeability

One of the benefits of additive manufacturing is that it can be used to produce porous metal objects. One of AM’s main advantages is that this porosity can be controlled digitally. Dyndrite and Elementum3D are collaborating to enable engineers to do just that, and create components with controlled permeability. Their latest development, PermiAM, integrates seamlessly with Dyndrite LPBF Pro, allowing for the precise control of coolant flow paths within a single metal part. This advancement eliminates the need for multiple assembly steps, reducing potential failure points and enhancing overall performance in critical applications.

Developed in collaboration with Astrobotic, PermiAM is now available through Dyndrite’s LPBF Pro software. It allows engineers to apply different parameter strategies within distinct volumes of a part. Coolant flow can be optimized while maintaining structural integrity, a feature especially crucial for industries that demand thermal efficiency and mechanical strength.
