Due to Overwhelming Response, Tiger Ups Q3d Production

Even without huge media announcements, Politronica and the Flying Tiger chain of stores have received an overwhelming response to their q3d desktop-lamp-and-3D-printer (3D Printing Media Network broke the news just last week). In just over a month, the team have saturated 50% of their initial production capacity (which amounted to 500 units by March).

This happened practically without any investment in communication, excluding the 9 headlines (between online and offline media) that told  the Q3D story, driving over 3,000 visitors to visit the light website. The team revealed that this tiny and unexpected success has put them in front of a “happy problem”, that lead them to reorganize their working hypothesis.

In agreement with Tiger, the Politronica team behind q3d have therefore decided to ask those who have backed the project by booking the 3D printer, to become ‘beta testers’. They will receive the q3d for free, after accepting to share with Politronica the disappointments and the enthusiasms that will arise from its first use.

At the same time, a more important production than the one imagined to date will be started, with aiming to bring the q3d 3D printer on Tiger’s shelves in June. The release will be announced by an online presale campaign, this time supported by adequate communication activities to provide a preliminary estimate of the quantities.
